nope cant supplement that 266 bucks at all, if they catch you they kick you off. I am not sure how anyone can live on 266 a month...I chose to cancel the app for disability and work if I can. I could not keep gas and insurance on a car for that amount in a month. My mom says...now I know why the disabled live in their cars and under bridges...how sad is that?

.... and it is amazing how many of the homeless, living under bridges, are still decent, honest, law abiding people even though our government has neglected them... we had at least 2 come in to our offices to file their taxes recently, one qualified for free 1040 EZ return and had a whopping return of only $24 which we have no way to get back to him (he said he will come pick it up someday...) and the other owed $2 which he paid. The preparer put him on his "friends and family" so he would not have to pay to file the return.

it is sad!! because its so stupid!

the only way I can get the medical treatment I need is to be disabled, yet if I get the medical treatment I stay in remission and I am fine. I can work right along with everyone else should I gain remission. the catch is, I cant work when sick, lose my job and any medical I had so then I have to be disabled and take what the state gives me...cept they wont give me... I would rather work and get my own insurance. when I am sick I would rather pay the state for insurance premiums than take their disability but they wont let me do that either. its all stupid.... dang now I got a head ache and could crab all day about this. but I think I am going to go to bed instead!

hey I was in there today and mentioned BYC to a guy that was visiting, was that you?

and if anyone has extra boxes Monroe farm and feed is out and they really need boxes. they are sending chicks home in paper bags lol. so if your headed that way they could use any extra you might have.

If I was standing over by the fireplace trying to dry off from being out in the rain today, That would of been me.
Nice to seee some BYC people getting together at the Monroe Supply store.
I told 'em if they had coffee and free WIFI I'd never leave. Just can't help being in a good old fastion Ma & Pa Farm supply store.
It's real down home type supply, very friendly!!!

Honestly, I wish they couches!

I'm hoping that I may be able to drive down your way this coming Sunday.

It all depends on the weather and if I have to drive in to Seattle to pick up my Eglu chicken coop. The coop is supposed to be on a Greyhound Bus right now, and when it gets to the station, they like for you to pick it up in 48 hours. Unfortunately, they don't call until the package arrives in Seattle, so it makes planning anything impossible. If this weekend won't work out, I can come down and pick up any completed bells the weekend after the show. I would be happy to drop them off at places I drive though or hang on to them at my house. I can also deliver to people in this area.

IOne of my best friends has systemic lupus. She can't get insurance in this state. When she lived in California, they had a program paid for by cigarette tax money. Anyone denied insurance because of pre-existing medical conditions can buy insurance through the state for a very reasonable rate (This was in the mid 90's - I think she paid $130 per month which was cheaper than what I paid through my job). She wished they had the same program here when she moved to WA. She used to drive to Canada for treatment, but recently found a Dr. who takes cash at a reasonable charge.

OK, I'm not going to read all the new posts before responding.

Last year I removed all the shredded newsprint and filled the bottom floor of the coop with stall dry. I have mixed feelings about it. It does not look perfectly clean as you would expect, but it is very dry and no smell at all. I rarely need to clean the stall dry, as the chickens poop on the second floor.
As far as the large kitty litter scooper. I had the same issue with them being cheap, flimsy and basically garbage, so I made my own. Feed store, $2.99 for a feed scoop, and a few minutes with a drill. I really like that it has a flat bottom. Makes cleaning the litter box so much easier.
