Welcome to the Washington thread. My DH and I have raised meat birds for the past 2 years. We have simple skinned the birds. I must say that I would like to have a few of the birds with skins still on them. I just haven't figured out how to set up a place outside to scald the birds first. So we will probably skin again this year.

WOO! Another cutie! He's all black with yellow just around his eyes. What's that gonna be? Tuxedo?

These quail are sure finicky. When I've hatched chicks they were on time and hatched at about the same time. So weird how one little guy hatches and hours later nobody else has:confused:

If he looks black with yellow eye brows its a dark range. he/she will be very dark "chocolate/mahogany" colored.

and yes they take a little adjusting to get them to hatch just right. Dunno maybe its the quail voodoo dance that makes em hatch

I think that I owe Rainpuppy a big thank you. I went and picked up the wine cooler today. It was much smaller than I was thinking that it was going to be. It is okay this way I won't be able to get into as much trouble I hope. Now I have to figure out how to convert it.

My life has become a lot more scary these days. The snapping turtle heads have taken to chasing me down and biting me. Climbing out of bed is the worst, at least they haven't figured out how ti get in bed with me yet.

These little nasty baby dogs have the sharpest little teeth, and then they will shake what every body part that they have a good grip on.

That one might be a bit to small to make a bator but would be perfect for a egg storage at 50F

If you do convert to a bator you will want to find some heat wire (old heaters have it inside) and ceramic wire knobs to hold it. a light bulb might take up to much room inside.
And a good used computer fan should do for air movement.

All the above should be free or very cheap used.
The part you want to spend money on is the thermostat. but in that small space a hotwater thermostat (make sure it goes down to 95F) should work well.

Good morning every body. Up early to haul crates from Fife!
We had a yorkie when I was in JR high. Breeder gave her to up cause we saved her prized cat from being eaten by a pack of her nasty little dogs. She got parvo as a pup and ended up only weighing about 1 lb. But she was the most protective ferocious one lb on four legs.

Welcome to Gardengal and seafooey!

Sure glad I have an iPhone to keep up on all the pages today. Gonna make 2 runs to Fife so I'd have way too much homework by the time I got home without my traveling internet.
