Oh congrats - that is one of the
best feelings in the world! Starts with the fluttering, then as the baby gets bigger, well it's a virtual amusement park ride inside there!
With my 2nd son, I could lay on my back and set something on my big prego belly and he would kick it off. Felt like he was gonna come right through my side!
Now when he walks through the house it sounds very much like an elephant!
Both my kids were kickers and movers - with DS, it made me motionsick, but with DD I was used to it, and I did not find it bothersome. With DS, I always made sure a bathroom or a bucket were nearby. Once at work we had a guest speaker, and I was sitting in the lecture hall in an aisle seat in case I needed to make a run for it. DS made a huge flip with his foot sticking out, it made a ripple across my clothes so big that it was eveidednt from across the room. The speaker suddenly stopped her lecture, turned white, and asked if that was a foot she just saw move across my belly. When I told her it was, she ran out of the room to the bathroom!
With DD, I was in the hospital for much of my pregnancy and had to wear both a contraction belt and fetal monitor. DD moved so much, we could not keep her heart under the fetal monitor, so I took the belt off and just hand held it and followed her around whenever I was awake. I got really good at finding every part very quickly. She moved around more when the belts were both on, I suspect because she did not like being squished between the 2 belts. She'd still move when I would take the fetal monitor off, but no more sumersaults! Most of the time I could find an area to set the monitor on my belly and hold it on with an open paperback book, and then I'd just listen and move the monitor if she drifted too far.
Wait till you feel hiccups! The first time you might think they are little contractions because they are so regular.
