Cast iron is pretty much all we cook with.

x2
I just have to get a couple more cast iron pans and I think we will have a good FULL set plus.

*FULL set = just about all the frying/stew pans/pots/griddles

Yes, thank you.

The feed store called me at 9:30 to tell me my chicks were in, lol. I forgot I had given them my number! All three girls are very active and showing little chicken 'tudes already! The smaller of the two SLW's wants nothing to do with me and even jumped out of my hand when I was carefully putting them in the brooder when we got home! She jumped from a height of about 2 feet and landed on top of the feather duster I have in there for them to cuddle with (my stuffed beaver was missing it's nose), but she appears fine. The larger SLW pecks at my fingers any time I put my hand in the brooder, lol. Cute now, but I hope to curb that before she gets big enough to hurt me! I named them Henrietta (the biter) and Clyde (the runner/jumper), these were nicknames that my Dad gave my sister and I as kids (he really wanted boys!) and I thought them very fitting names for my girls. The third chick is a BR, she sorta puffs out her chest and stands as tall as she can get when she eyes me. She (I really hope it is a she anyway) keeps an eye out at the top of the brooder and catches me peeking in every time too! The BR doesn't have a name yet...but I'm leaning toward Gertrude...mainly because it sounds as silly as Henrietta and Clyde, lol. And chicken math has already struck (though I was able to control myself)! I didn;t realize how darned cute and "take me homeable" they all would be! I tried not to eyeball them too much...if they had been there at 8am, I would have come home with 5 instead of just the three! The little RIR's were so cute though!

All of the bins on the brooder stacks were stuffed with chicks, so I guess that the delay and overnight in the PO didn't hurt thechicks too bad...

And here is a semi-blurry/semi-good pic of the girls!

What cuties! I love the names. I think Gertrude is perfect. In fact the next batch of chicks I get I have a feeling somebody will be named Getrude.

Henrietta and Clyde are adorable too

Oh congrats - that is one of the best feelings in the world! Starts with the fluttering, then as the baby gets bigger, well it's a virtual amusement park ride inside there!

With my 2nd son, I could lay on my back and set something on my big prego belly and he would kick it off. Felt like he was gonna come right through my side!
lol.png

Now when he walks through the house it sounds very much like an elephant!

Both my kids were kickers and movers - with DS, it made me motionsick, but with DD I was used to it, and I did not find it bothersome. With DS, I always made sure a bathroom or a bucket were nearby. Once at work we had a guest speaker, and I was sitting in the lecture hall in an aisle seat in case I needed to make a run for it. DS made a huge flip with his foot sticking out, it made a ripple across my clothes so big that it was eveidednt from across the room. The speaker suddenly stopped her lecture, turned white, and asked if that was a foot she just saw move across my belly. When I told her it was, she ran out of the room to the bathroom!

With DD, I was in the hospital for much of my pregnancy and had to wear both a contraction belt and fetal monitor. DD moved so much, we could not keep her heart under the fetal monitor, so I took the belt off and just hand held it and followed her around whenever I was awake. I got really good at finding every part very quickly. She moved around more when the belts were both on, I suspect because she did not like being squished between the 2 belts. She'd still move when I would take the fetal monitor off, but no more sumersaults! Most of the time I could find an area to set the monitor on my belly and hold it on with an open paperback book, and then I'd just listen and move the monitor if she drifted too far.

Wait till you feel hiccups! The first time you might think they are little contractions because they are so regular.

Any one who is going to the show have any extra egg cartons they are willing to sell? Used but clean or new, happy with either.

My twins got hiccups together only one time. It was such a crack-up!!! My daughters we slow and spaced and my sons were like machine gun fire! He still hiccups like that, even at 10!
