It would have indeed. With the changes we've been making and the feather damage happening with our Shamos, . . . We've no good reason to go. (all the gas, money, and time to just see other chickens is not quite worth it.)
Had a good time at the show, and it was lovely to meet everyone, but next time I won't bring Mr. H. He gets bored too easily. We went to the Monroe Farm and Feed store, where they had lots of adorable chicks. They had "German spitzhaubens" in one bin. I met a couple of nice women there who said there is a spitzhauben group on Yahoo that I should join. The one woman has eggs from the same person from whom I got mine. I also overheard some advice on discouraging egg eating. The woman said to blow out an egg, and fill it with hot mustard. She was talking about ducks, but it might work for chickens, too. If not, what nasty tasting things could I fill an egg with to discourage them?
