:'(

When my last batch got some poopies stuck around their vents, I just flipped them over and plucked everything contaminated. They made disgruntled little peeps when I did it, but afterwards seemed to forget it even happened.

I need to see who's up (lol, Saturday morning sleeper-inners) and see if I can get some money from dad before heading down there. Maybe if I'm reallllly lucky I'll find a lemon-blue cochin chick or two at the show! LOL

well no one has told me what colors but sine I think egg color comes from papa (correct me if I'm wrong) the eggs should be a cream to brown... Orpington cockerel and white leghorn hen

I ain't no rocket (or egg) scientist but I think you are right about the color Coming from papa.
See around here DW has the rule that we are NOT ALLOWED to have anything thart lays those NASTY WHITE EGGS !!!!! Hey maybe you could interest Ron.

I had three broodies last year - so I placed 4 eggs under each one. I wanted more pretty aqua colored eggs but only had brown leghorn roos. I kept my fingers crossed that the two EE's laying aqua eggs would give me offspring that also layed aqua eggs rather than white.

WELL - one of the EE/leghorn crosses lays a very pretty robin eggs blue and the other lays a drab olive colored egg. So my experience showed the egg color came from the moms.

My other eggs placed under the broodies all produced egg colors passed on by the Mom's.

My goal also is to have a colorful egg carton since I sell eggs at work to cover feed costs. I have more customers than eggs. All I need is chocolate - dark brown egg layers and more aqua layers.
