Our female cat will not accept other female kittens or cats. We have two male cats one the brother of our female (we brought them back from south america with us 7 years ago) and another male we got as a kitten 2 years ago (he came with another kitten who has since been eaten by a coyote). We have tried female cats and kittens and our female will not allow them in her house. I don't know why. Her brother only accepts kittens, male female makes no difference (he adopts anything young but fights with most adults ). My oldest male died a few years back at a ripe old age, and he accepted anything. So basically we want an animal that disrupts the balance the least

What about skipper? Anyone know if she is still around?

I think Skipper got married to one of the GI Joes. She spent a lot of time with the GI Joes over the years. They now have 6 kids, and are very active in the community of Omaha. They felt that they will be better able to raise their children in the Mid-West. Skipper had to retire from being Barbie's best friend. She has gained too much weight, (six babies will do that to a girl) and Mattel and Skipper agreed to part ways. So now Skipper and her family are living in a very nice home with enough property to have a very lovely chicken coop, with 15 hens and a very happy rooster. Of course the family also has 3 Labrador Retrievers, plus a very fat tabby cat. It's nice to know that the girl next door is living the American Dream quietly in Omaha Nebraska.

I hope this will do for really good absurd story about Skipper, and one of the GI Joes.

P.S.
Feel free to add to the story if you want. I think we could give more chickens, and some ducks too. I also didn't name the breeds of chickens the family has.

A Warning next time please!!! I just about shot Dr Pepper out my nose!!! Not that it wouldn't be the perfect ending to a perfect day but c'mon people! Soda out the nose hurts!!

Well that makes sense. Moody is like that about male dogs. So any dog I get will have to be a female.... At least as long as his either visiting or living. I really think this spring will be a great time to do that. Lots of time to do research and decide what kinds I am going to try. I will try our local animal shelters/rescue of course first. But think it is a good idea to know the look of the dog I want. I am thinking medium to med/large. No big guys. Moody is plenty big. I think he weighs about 60-75 (normal and fat weight). Right now he is on his way up again. Too much celebrating over the holiday.

It is funny, he gains weight and I lose when he is here. I feel guilty whenever I eat in front of him. So I share, and when I think he has had enough, I just don't eat anything more unless I can sneak it when he goes to bed. Pitiful. I think I will have a better time with a dog I have raised because I can set the rules and they will know what they are. That is the theory anyway.

Rainplace, as Justbugged already said, I did take the fish to her today but could not grab the kitten this trip. The fish were not happy about being put in a bucket and they were trying to leap out. One actually hit the carpet twice and flipped all over like......hmmmm......a fish out of water. When I covered the bucket with aluminum foil, they still jumped, bubbling up the foil and even breaking it in one place. Needless to say, I was anxious to get going since I had about a 45 minute drive to get to Christine's.

I brought the kitten in tonight to give it another inspection and I think it may be a male that is a late bloomer. He is sitting on my lap as I type, obviously happy to be in the house. He just ate turkey rice soup and some meat. He is a very sweet kitten.

That was a rather big detail to miss. I will have to confess that I never had a Barbie until I was 24 years old. The only doll that I had like a Barbie had her legs cut off so that my mother could make a doll cake for a wedding shower.

Didn't Skipper have a boyfriend that Mattel gave her? And what was is name? Well he was just her High school boyfriend. They broke up after he cheated on her in the first year college. Not to mention that he was half in love Barbie.

as an aside, i had no idea what you all were talking about... this barbie and skipper matel thing. i thought i must have missed something and scrolled back and through the pages. i mean i know who barbie is and i sorta know who skipper is, but it all sounded so freaking real

I think there are a number of us that remember all of the original Barbie collections. I think that Barbie was born the same year I was.

I'm sorry to start such a confusing thing Donna. I think I am at fault. I named my two red hens Francie and Midge (Barbies best friends when I was a little girl). I am not sure about Skipper's boyfriend. She was just a wee one when I was little. We didn't even have the bending knees way back then in the dark ages. But the came along in my teens. Too bad too, I was so hard on dolls.

TomatoLady: I am too old for Barbie. I just had a little rubber doll that drank water and wet her diaper. One day I put milk in her bottle. She never smelled the same.

Her name was Besty Wetsy. I had one too. I just loved that doll.

You should read these last few pages from an outside persons point of view. One post about Barbie, one abouta kitten. Another post about Barbie's sister, or Midge, then a post about eggs and kittens. It is so Random!! Almost ADD!! I was laughing so hard!

My husband looked at me funny then just shook his head. Seriously, the Barbie and Skipper stories are too funny. Lucky for me I wasn't drinking soda at the time.
