Good morning all~
Have not heard anything from DH so far but that may be a good thing.
He said last night he had to drive clear back to his Dad's ranch & feed his Emus again, and get MiL's purse, and get money out of the Bank for Dad.
Dad has never written a check in his life & is helpless now that MiL cannot be there to get money for him or pay bills.
DH's sister is an idiot, can do nothing, a princess who has never done anything but be given.
rant.gif

So much so that she has been using FiL's car for 10 years..borrow & never return, DH's Dad lets her get away with it.
You would think she would get off her fanny & at least go feed the birds and do the banking..meanwhile DH drives back & forth running mindless errands....
somad.gif

Meanwhile, it is costing us a fortune in gas, like 2 tanks a day................

AND he still has not gone & listed our property with the realtor OR loaded the van to drive up here OR even gone over to our house to check on things...the 3 reasons he went down there.
He is ""visiting""" old frinds & family everyday and driving back over to Dad's ranch every night to feed the Emus.
Why doesn't his Dad go feed his own nasty Emus ?
Cuz as long as he can get someone else do do it, he will, that's where his sister gets it from.
His Mom is recovering fiine, as far as I know...and there is no reason why he cannot visit the realtor & go through our storgae & pack our van and still visit the hospital...MiL has been heavily sedated for 3 days...sitting at the hospital all day is not getting anything done.
Meanwhile, I am recovering & still shaky & weak and still have a recovering gut and will be this way for a 3 week total from gluten ingestion until I am back to normal,is 3 weeks. 21 days.
He left on day 4, and I had to cancel my doc appoinment & the rest of my lfe.

Zgoat:: What is it DiL has ?

Because there is nowhere to go in that department. Either I end up at the State Department of Agriculture, trying to find ways to control and destroy pest moths from destroying crops (like I want to support the corporate food companies

) or there's somewhere where I hear I can be a Forensic Entomologist, which frankly is kind of strictly focused on flies, with a few exceptions.

I love entomology, but I find it SO much better just doing it as a hobby as I've done for years now. I still get my data out there, still get to know professionals and amateurs alike, and still get involved in the biz. - But on my own schedule.

Have you decided what you want to do with your life ?
You have a brilliant mind!
What about veterinary science ?

Eh, the veterinary area never truly got my attention. For the longest time I wanted to be a Paleontologist, honestly, but even there I'd want to do other things after a while.

Right now I'm settling with full time farmer with art, website designing, and computer animation on the side.

There are Anatolian pups for $250 each in Moses Lake if you're coming to Stevenson, I'll pick you up one if you are interested?

I think they are all males and all have been started on livestock. I think they said 4 or 6 months old...

Thanks RFF, I discussed with DH last night and didn't get a huge NO. His biggest thing is dogs in the house (he always loses), I told him LGD live with the animals. You are not suppose to even make them too much of a pet so they are content to guard and not want to be with you all the time. With this litter due in April the pups won't be ready until end of June. That will give me time to get DH more used to the idea and finish some fencing along our road. Thanks for the offer but just not ready yet.

Question though for all you with LGD, Do they tend to bark all night at the moon? or only when there is a 'real' threat? Dh won't like too much barking if it's for nothing and we do have a neightbor within hearing distance that might not appreciate it if it's incessant.

Thinking about you....

I'm off of here too...need to shower and claim the TV before DH gets home.

You got that right girl. Gotta get that remote! I hate the shows DH picks to watch. On Saturday he watched TV all day. He's really starting to hate this weather and is protesting by not going out and doing a single thing all weekend. Anyway, all day he watched movies that everytime I came in the house there was constant screaming and gunshots. Actually forced me outside since I couldn't stand to hear it. I can only take so much of that stuff. I guess he's really desensitized.

Jack (pyranees X Australian Shepard) oh you met Jack, is 11 mo old and wants to play, but only for a short period of time, he is a Large Breed dog, and so does not have outrageous energy as smaller dogs do.
He does not bark at all unless he sees or hears something to bark at.
I really believe all dogs can be trained at that, you have to set boundaries where he is to "patrol" and where he is not to.
Some people never train their dogs where their patrol boundaries are, and these dogs will bark at everything, even yards(homes) far down the road.
When Jack sees someone next door, (which is way down by our gate) he watches, and sometimes will bark...and when he does I tell him "NO!"
So he is getting really good at watching.
If anyone comes IN our yard, THEN I let him bark.
Jack is getting so in-tune with the chickens & Guineas, that if the birds "go off" with their "hawk" alarm or any disturbance, He looks for the cause, and will look uo too! I have heard the chickens & guineas "go off" and look out the window to see Jack looking straight up...and sure enough, there is a hawk or eagle circling overhead.
he is turning into an excellent LGD !!
He is from Moses Lake too!
Wish I had gotten 2, there was 8 total pups in the pound there, and what a great dog he is becoming at such a tender age of 11 mo.
He LOVES the chickens to come visit him, they even go in his dog house and he will roll over and gentle paw at them..they are his friends.
He is delighted when they come visit.
The chickens also provide entertainent for him, and he is visably bored when on a rainy day, they do not come out for him to watch.
You will LOVE having a LGD....

ARGH!! My DH does that too!
He watches every blow-them up cops-arresting arguementative drunks & druggies, sirens blaring...I have told him before that moved out in the country to get away from all that insanity!!
smack.gif

I am not much for girlie movies & I hate TALK shows and retarded soap operas, what I do like to watch is imformative TV, like DIY stuff, used to love Yankee workshop type shows & the green channell, and NOVA, shows that teach you something really real.

Another of DH favorite shows is Judge Judy. First thing he does when he comes home from work is plant himself on the couch and watch EVERY Judge Judy he recorded. That womans voice just grates on me. I should be thankful since it forces me outside even in the rain to get some work done. Ha, I remember on a thread on here they were talking about their chickens names. A lady was talking about her chicken she named Judge Judy. She posted a photo and the resemblance was amazing. It was a Naked Neck!

RFF: I have a baggie of beads to send you...then maybe bring the necklace to Stevenson ?

DH just called & said no word from the Hospital so he says everything must be OK, unchanged.
I feel bad for that surgical team having to go through this crud due to the original surgeon screwing up...
somad.gif

It is not their fault MiL became infected or had the implnated pacemaker done that she actually did not need.
It was not necessary for her to have it.
somad.gif

So she is recouping, with no pacemaker, just fine.
The batteries in her old pacemaker went out years ago.
It has been dead in her for years.
When the batteries went low they kept beeping, and FiL & MiL thought it was their smoke detectors, they kept changing smoke detector batteries & could not figure it out.
If she would have needed the pacemaker, it had dead batteries.
OK, enough ranting, getting positive here...

So, what a lovely monsoon we are having today!
Yippee!
I really think this weather will continue until spring of 2012............argh!

Oh JJ would just make me loose it.
Funny how some people get off watching/listening to other stupid people's idiot poop!
Why can't he get off the tube & help out?
Geeeze, years go by all all they do is sit & listen to ridiculous garbage.
I watch America's Funniest Videos sometimes...not often, seems there is way too many reruns.
I cannot sit long anyway, gotta move, and have a hard time forcing myself to lie down & relax, even when I am sick.
