I have a boxer also... I still havent figured out how to train a boxer. waaaaaaay to much drive rattling around in that spacey head. Rose got to see the new hatchlings last night...she snorted snot all over them and vibrated from head to tail...I knew it wasnt cause she thought they were cute either...it was cause she views them as squeaky toys to chase and grab. I trained field trial dogs and they are nuts, but do not compare to the flying boxer I have lol

Just popping in for a quick Hello and to say I am home!!! Sooooo happy to be here! Very tired today though. DH just took the kids off to a 4-H meeting, I'm having quiet time, bubble bath and early to bed!

The kids did well caring for the birds. I was impressed that they all had food and water and some of the coops were recently cleaned. I will tackle the brooder boxes tomorrow as that seems to have been overlooked. Very sad that my Lav Ameraucana did not lay for me today. She started laying just days after I left, and the kids say she has the prettiest turquoise egg! And of course none of hers were saved for me to see! Hopefully tomorrow!

CR's Bell:

Oh, the bell is beautiful there! Mine will never look that good where it's at, not sure I chose the right spot. Of course the bell will always dress up an area and the sound when the wind blows is glorius but yours is awesome there.

Nope that ha sonly been sold once. But since we are on the subject. Today it got a bit windy here which caused quite a racket. See I currently have 9 bells hanging out. Five of which will be for sale at the show next weekend. I did a quick tally today and currently have 43 items to take and I am still making more. Probably be in the "production mode" until I start loading on Wednesday.

Thanks all! I love the bell, it fits and looks perfect there! It it works well with the oversized cedar shakes. We had Hardy-Plank on the last house, and several other products that were made to look like the real thing, but did not last like the real thing, so when we built this place we used the real stuff. So far, it is holding up great! No moss and mushrooms growing out of our walls anymore.

It has been so windy here that the bell has been ringing almost non-stop since I have been home, and I put it in a spot that is usually quite protected from the rain, unless it ricochets off the living room wall and bounces back. It sure sounds pretty, though it is driving the dogs nuts so I put Shasta's crate where she can see the door. Wish I could trust that dog like I do Willow.

The chickens are all hanging out in their coops. No one wants to venture out in the monsoon for fear they'd find themselves pastered to the back wall of the run!

I think some of my hens are thinking about gowing broody. One buff orp pulled out a bunch of her down and lined one of the nest boxes. She sat in the box on some fake eggs and growled for 2 days. Now she is with her flock again acting normal, and one of the EE's has taken her spot in the box and growling at all those who dare get near!

Gonna go back to midnight now and try to catch up ....
