There are many different kinds of food poisonings. Some like 200 plus. So unless you have a stuffy nose, it's food poisoning. Everyone has a time when they go through it.
I am sorry that you don't feel well right now.

Very very interesting. I will have to look up more info on this.

http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/poultry_eggs.shtml

Darn. The Netherlands isn't on the list of countries that don't require quarantine.

The following countries are considered by the USDA to be free of exotic Newcastle disease: Australia, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man), Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Hatching eggs imported from these countries are not required to be quarantined. However, the hatching eggs must be accompanied by a veterinary health certificate issued by a national government veterinarian of the exporting country as well as by a USDA import permit (see exception for Canada below).

Somehow I still think that these college edumucated kids should be able to mail me some eggs. I am thinking that if you miss marked the package as gifts, that it wouldn't be very hard to get them here.

I am SO NOT a pro....but, my Hannah, just hatched 2 BR eggs (she is a bantam cochin)...24 hours later I had bought 3 feed store chicks and I put them under her in the middle of the night. Now, mind you...the babies she hatched are black....the 3 I put under her - yellow. If you were to ask her....they are all her babies and she fluffs up about twice her size whenever I am out there cleaning/feeding/watering. Those are HER babies....no questions asked. Mine did not notice that not only did she gain 3 babies 24 hours later (and I had moved her from where she had been to a more secure location - away from everyone else) but that NONE of the eggs were bantam cochin size. My personal opinion...once they are broody - they kind of go brain-dead. I bet she won't notice....but will eagerly await the opinions of pros.

The broody BO is currently sitting on 5 mini plastic brightly colored easter eggs - Bantam sized and heavy because there is an ink pad in half of each egg and a rubber stamp on the other! She did push a few of them out of the nest ... ones where I had mixed up the top and bottoms so each egg had 2 colors. They split open when they hit the ground, and no one seemed curious as to the odd insides.

LOL...I bet if you got real eggs under her she will take them. Maybe she was a bit concerned she would be hatching Easter Chicks...pinks and blues.

Well, today is lockdown day for my first time of using my Brinsea incubator....there are 13 eggs left in the 'bator. If/when they hatch....I will need more eggs to put in it....hmmmm, what to do? what to do? RFF are selling any testers? Do you need to have soime hatched for you? I need a big roo that can cover all my hens...my bantam is doing the best his litle legs can do.....but I think it is time to look for a nice mannered big boy. RFF, you said you may have some later in the summer, I can talk to you.

RFF: I hope you are feeling better. You looked adorable with your baby bump. I bet that all is well with baby...just try to not get too stressed. I have seen these 3-D ultrasounds...they are really cool.

CL: I pray that your FIL finds peace soon, before it is too late. I am sorry for all the trauma in your life.

I think I told everyone earlier....but just I don't remember...but, I will NOT be able to make it to Stevenson.

Blueduckling: You said something about a Puyallup show? can you send me to where I can find this info. I really want to go to some more shows to learn more and to just "hang" with my BYC peeps.

Everyone have a nice day.

I am wondering if anyone breeds Muscovy Ducks......I thought I would go the duckling route instead of getting these "wild" grown hens. I would like to interact with my flock and hate that these ones run away from their current owner. Any suggestions on where to get some Muscovy ducklings?
