I can drive posts if I put the driver on, then stand the post up, cuz I am short...LOL
Trying to hold the post & then put the driver on is difficult...
Where is everyone ?
I had pips start at bedtime last night, and about 12 Ameraucana hatch out, a few OEs, and 4 that pipped last night & were still in, but zipping now...3 eggs left.
After this hatch we do marek's again..and then all the babies can go in together and go outside if they want as the 'big chick' brooder box has an outside door & chick safe-predator proof run.
DH should be leaving early tomorrow morning to come back, and then it will be a whirlwind of days spent in the car to catch up with chores.
I have to do a feed run, (south) maybe make DH do that Friday after he drops me off at Spiffy's to meet up with T-Hi, and we have to do the pharmacy, groceries, my parents are egg-less and waiting...and then we have the building plans to pick up...and lots of stuff needed at home depot, for the coop and green house.
The list will keep us in the car running everyday for about a week..show in between.
I would have named the rabbits Morton & Ollie (Oliver)
They look like that is thier names to me.
I name mine 'people' names, with the family last name of 'Buns"
So, one doe is Sweety Buns, Ophelia (OH_FEEL_YER ) Buns, Patty Buns, Spanky Buns, Buckeroo Buns, get it ???

They are the Bun Family.

I am infested with Cuckoo Marans, all sizes & ages, and Ameraucana, Blue Black & silvery..and OEs.............and have not been able to deliver.
I am posted flyers and having a chick sale starting Tuesday...and will be leaving my phone number so I can meet up with people interested.
There is easily 50 in there

I am keeping 4 or 5...all the rest go, ALL the Cuckoo Marans go, downsizing.

LOL....funny girl. But, why would oysters make you feel better? Was she being honest?

Ok 4312- You have me laughing to the point of tears!! It has been a old myth that oysters are an aphrodisiac. It was supposed to be a joke!

However, eating smoked oysters, in the sun, with a good friend, did make me feel temporarily better.

Just call me old....Glad I could make you laugh though. Here I was thinking that they had some wonderous powers to cure illness. And all they are are slimy sea creatures that make ya' horny.....Okay, I'm in.

No, actually I knew about the aphrodisiac...I was just wondering if they did have some other good purposes. During BBQs I cook them...eat them - not so much.

Glad I could give you a good laugh, I do hope liquid (ie, 7-up, milk, pop, coffee, beer, etc) did not come shooting out of your nose though from laughing so hard.

After the Stevenson show this weekend, we just have the summer fairs until we have Stevenson again in October, then the Chehalis show in December. You've got to go while the going's good. You can get lots of information on all sorts of breeds there.

This is good information (for us newbies that know nothing) to know so I can plan ahead. Anything in Idaho?

I am so excited for you. Keep us updated.

This is hysterical...Love Ophelia's name...good imagination.

Okay, this is early day 20....now let's see if anything happens in the incubator today. The chicks Hannah hatched were day 20. I checked her that morning....nothin...that evening....2 baby BR. So let's see if we can make it happen in the next day or 2. DD will be devistated if nothing happens, but that is the facts of life and I will have to explain it just does not happen all the time. We just need to learn more.

Actually, oysters are not considered an actual 'aphrodisiac' but rather that they contain alot of zinc, which is so necessary to male reproduction (sperm production) tee hee.
I have actually toyed with feeding them to my roosters
lau.gif

Just kidding.
We women need zinc too, but our men need more.
Mine doesn't need any

Anyone want Blue Ameraucanas, and maybe a few Wheaten, or Cuckoo and maybe a few Black Copper Marans chicks ?
Let me know, Marek's vaccinated.
I can bring them to the show...

If CR wants oysters to bar-be-que I can go get some fresh at the oyster plant.
Shucked, then we have empty oyster shells we save (and run through the dish washer) pack in salt, and save.
When we bar-be-que them, we put the shells on the grill, pat of butter, touch of garlic or dill, drop in a raw fresh oyster, and lower the barbie lid.
YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We also lay them on the greased smoke n' grill grill, and smoke them.
DH always says they are so hard to light
roll.png

Did you see the big nasty Emus ?
I am glad they are gone, FiL has threatened to bequeth them to me in his will..........
sickbyc.gif
just cuz he knows I hate the big useless birds.........MiL would never let him cull any, and he just kept hatching them.
A full sack of grain a month (or sooner) per bird...they will graze if there is grass.
And right now there is grass....but in a month the grass will die off, and you have to grain feed them until fall rains bring grass back.

And they will eat grass like geese..down to the roots.
Gotta feild rotate them, need lots of fenced pastures.

And they make the wierdest bongo noises..like someone in the bushes is beating on drums....

The earlier T-post driver accidently smacked in the head and knocked out on the ground, was our girl Cheryl98117.........poor kid was 'blurry' for days afterwards.
Cheryl is tall too!
But pounded down and caught the driver on the side of the wire notch and the driver rang her bell good!!

Not funny then at all.

I tried to go and see the emu pictures but could not find them...found the thread, but no photos. I would never want Emus...too scary.

My mother is going to will to me all the CR** that she is collecting from yard sales that she might make a nickel off. She has an ENTIRE shed just with clothes...that need to go in the trash because the cats are sleeping on them....NOPE, I can't throw them away, she wants to take off the buttons. I am going to instatutionalize her if she does not stop this. (I"m kidding - or am I?)
