I had leased a horse i would show with who had Impressive in him.... needless to say this horse had to have surgery on his back right and his gait was a little weird because the owners didn't exercise him enough while recovering. Always had to tell the judges that he has Impressive in him otherwise they would throw me out or DQ thinking he was lame. Parz was really well trained and i won many shows with him. He was actually one of the smoothest QH i have ever ridden.... (i owned for 5 years) Chief my double registered paint had a trot that would shred your organs, no one would believe me when i complained of side pains when riding him, but his canter was nice, i think his favorite was walking. so not as good in western pleasure but he did awesome in trail.

oooo I stay AWAYYYY from Impressive! I know all about the bad press he got and the issues and their are people that still buy his lines, but, sorry I'm for big body's big feet! I can't stand to look at a big Quarter with small feet! That's why i gravitate towards the older lines, not as many navicular and tying up issues. Yea, can't say that many qh have a smooth trot! lol! I just never could afford to do the show thing, rodeo'd as a teenage, was the princess of the Cayuse Rodeo association 80-81! Rodeo'd in that circuit for a few years! it was fun for sure!

Awesome. I love "splash" I have a pair of blues and they don't breed all blue. the 25% that is "splash" is what I'm keeping. Then whenI breed it with the cinnamon boy I'm getting soon, ther will be a chance of some lavender babies that are SQ.

I bet I have lavenders now from my penciled and blue breeding already, but I just don't know what to look for. Sold them all. Just got 3 more ducklings today and will probably sell them too. Looks black with a cream chest. Dunno what that will grow into. Its a blue male X with a penciled female.

That is what is happening for ducks too. except officially the "splash" is called silver. But even within the same hatch, you'll get different shades of splash & different shades of blue. That is why I love BLUE X BLUE babies. It is like a "box of chocolates". And to make it even more fun, I'm tossing in a brown sex linked gene.

If any of you guys have these i wouldn't mind getting them locally otherwise MPC is where i will be

White Empordanesa
Partridge Penedesenca
Blue Copper Marans
Blue Splash Marans

i want to get White Marans... but i don't have money for those eggs.

JBEAR : how do I know when to "help out" the calls. Are they able to break out initially then tire out?
They are in the hatch box and the runners are starting to hatch. Actually the first 3 are sitting on the rest of the eggs.

Thanks. I figured it out. It boiled down to the difference between import and export.
