Hello

I'm in Yakima. I found this site not too long ago and I have really learned a bunch! One of the things I've learned is that I need more chickens!

Who's got extra?

Were we separated at birth?

I just used up my morning's chicken-run building time pruning back a couple of large, deadly rose bushes (aside to hallerlake: Darlow's Enigma and New Dawn) so that I could move my picnic benches to use as work surface without having my face ripped off my head.

There's a reason I don't grow roses. Actually there are several reasons.

How much is your Dad selling his treadle feeders for?

Also how big are they any pictures we could see. My husband was going to build one for me but never did.

He sells them for $100 painted, they take about 6+ hours to make, and then add the cost of the supplies to make them, they are pretty reasonable. I use about 1/2 - 2/3 of a 50lb bag in mine each time. He does not make a ton of them, just does it on weekends when he is not busy, my dad is the type that can't stand to be still!

Even when he is sitting his knee is always bouncing! Anyways, I will see if I can load a picture of it, if it does not work let me know!

This, maybe?

What's hilarious (not) about that mess is that I got it when I was fixing the wheelbarrow and the leg of the chair I was sitting on suddenly cut through a (unidentified burrowing mammal: I've got 'em all) burrow and dropped a foot, dumping me into the base of the New Dawn. All that damage ws through long sleeves, too.

But could you imagine me without roses? I can't.

That, and the watering, and fertilizing, and the disease issues. I don't spray.

Neither do I, haven't for decades, if they can't survive without spraying I don't want them.

Which is, of course, why I mostly have great big thorny monsters, and the sort of roses that don't take much fertilizer or water after they're well established, and my biggest time-outlay every year is spring pruning.
