Somebody needs to talk me down; I keep looking at the chicken coop and getting itchy fingers toward the saws. I just had to wash the sheets twice because I dropped them and stepped on them taking them out of the washer, and I seriously don't have sufficient lumber to waste any.

i almost strangled my dog today.
yesterday Charlie (golden R.)had followed me down to the chicken coop and got withing 100 yards of my birds... He gets mad when i leave him

Today Jake (110lb chocolate lab) had decided to follow me down 10 minutes after i left.....
While getting the chickens waterers ready the birds suddenly were freaking out i looked up (again) thinking it was the turkey vulture circling around.... then i look down and Jake is in my pen and Pissing on the Flock block.... I was stunned and ticked that he did that... then I remembered the chickens.... i was yelling at him to get in my gator to take him up to the house... but he was busy sniffing chicken poop (its not like i can drag him he is too big and strong for me to push around)
after a few minutes of him not litening to me and not killing my birds yet suddenly my roosters decided it was a good idea to run into the coop (useless birds thought they are supposed to sacrifice themselves...) well them running triggered Jakes chase instinct and ran into the coop where everyone else ran... then they suddenly all flew out... And Jake had one of my worn out hens (from roosters) pinned. I yelled at him and pointed out... he suddenly listened and went out and started trotting to the getor, every time he thought of the birds I yelled at him. after i got in the gator he loaded in the passenger side. I grabbed his collar to keep him with me and drove him home.

I found a few unused waterers hidden and filled them figuring all that stress will make them extra thirsty.... If my birds go on strike tomorrow at least i know why...

Most of the time the dogs are good about staying home or only with us at the fruitstand... i think this nice weather has the dogs wanting to spend more time with us...

I now realize my roosters are good at sounding the alarm but have no clue how dangerous it is to stand staring at 4 legged animals... They know what to do with large birds circling but not dogs... and i think not coyotes either... Maybe this will be a lesson to the birds... and i have to make sure to lock the dogs up since they do not feel like listening to me anymore...

I am thinking I will have my BF help me round up the roosters that I plan to sell next week, I am tired of 5 roosters jumping on one hen... My submissive hens hide in the coop all day or sit on nests all day to escape them. I am thinking $5 each for 6 month old roosters.

I had called Justbugged last week. She was going to take a break from BYC while her hubby was home. He works out of town ALOT so when he is home they spend quality time together and not the computer. Which is very understandable. I'm sure she will pop back in soon. We are planning a get together for eenie soon! And freezer camp the beginning of June!

My DD has a tough decision to make really soon....

Either Daffy has to go to the horrible outdoors.... or she has to clean her bedroom so Daffy's box can go in her room!

Mama has babies filling up the house!!
