Hey everyone Happy New Year!!!

Its been a long time but I finally finished my semester in school...23 credits....I was exhausted.

It took me three daysof reading just to catch up with everyone!! Can't wait to see you all at the party!!!!

I lost two hens in the last coupleof days...not sure why but they were about 3 years old so I am guessing the cold had a lot to do with it. But I need to ask a question of all the experts here:

Ok so I have this hen(?) possibly rooster. It is the first chick I ever let my girls hatch. Every day she/he goes outside with all the hens, runs around and does everything everyone else does. SO here is the problem. If you walk up to her she screams, falls over and twists her head so she is looking at you upside down.

No really!!(in case you think I am kidding) If you pick her up she screams more!! At night when I go in to the coop to check on everyone she is on the floor with her head twisted upside down still looking at you upside down. Is there a such thing as a fainting chicken???? I am going to shoot some pictures of her because it is so weird if I did not see her do it I would never believe it....so has anyone else ever experienced this? And no I am still not kidding I think this is my psyco chick.......

Anyway...good to see everyone....Already ordering chicken catelogs for my new chicks...I want to make an order in late January for chicks...I can't wait......

This is for everyone that 2010 is a great year for us all... I am going car shopping tomorrow so wish me luck. I am looking at a ford explorer sport trac.........

Justbugged did ya see my earlier about the bator on CL for $10 I think it looks like a LG. I am trying to make arrangements to have dd pick it up. Since there looks like a chance I may be getting some dark maran eggs. ( also posted earlier)

That's OK when I first transplanted 20+ ago I lived across the hiway from the blinky light so I won't hold it against ya.
I am new to chickens too only been at this since March 09.
Hey are ya goin to the party Feb 28?

oh, that's over where I live, past Del Ray Estates. Did you know they're probably going to get a real light to replace the blinky one? It's supposed to be about like the one at Mary's Corner. I don't know if you heard about that big wreck a few weeks ago that killed the high school kid and injured the other (logging truck T bone) at the light, but it spurred people to try harder to get the light. The state came out and did studies and whatnot and decided that a real light is needed. It'll be easier to cross 12. That's for sure...

Probably won't go to the party. My husband doesn't like me to meet up with internet people and so I don't want to rock the boat in that area...

I saw your post. I looked it up and I couldn't find any mention of the bator on the ad. It's possible that they removed it after you let them know that you wanted it. I have a bator but I'm not sure if it works well enough to share it with anyone in good conciseness. I have only gotten about 7 out of 47 eggs to hatch. I did give away 8 of the eggs, but still 7 out of 39 is still not a very good ratio. I hope that you find a really good bator. I still want to hatch more eggs, even though I don't have room for anymore birds. I do want to hear if you get the eggs. Christina

I'm in Mossyrock, which is fairly close to Chehalis. It's not as close as Ethel, but it's still our nearest "city." and yeah, Spiffy's peanutbutter cream pie... yummm

Oh, chicken poo. You would have to say peanutbutter icecream. Now I am going to have to check it out soon. Is it Homemade???

I hear fried Chickie Poo balls are all the rage in south Washington. Do you prefer them dipped in ranch, or honey mustard?

And uhh, sure, we'll stop, but if you rustle some waterfowl, you gotta rustle the blonde in the backseat too. She's housebroken (breaks your house?)

Justbugged I got e-mail late last night the bator was just sold. DANG IT JIM !!!!!
Worst case I will build one but I thought for $10 what the hay. I am also thinking that if I win these eggs I probably only want 2 or 3 pullets and may be able to do some trading for some one hatching.

Nyrial I think the water fowl are safe. I don't really have a place for them and no desire. If you ladies ARE really going to stop WE would love to come meet ya for a few. I will PM my cell #.
I prefer the rare ranch mustard that is gathered fresh from the coop!

Weavergarden IT is cream pie not ice cream.

They also have chocolate/peanutbutter cream pie... Your choice LOL Their crust isn't anything special but with a cream pie, who cares? They use real whipped cream and pile it up. It's heavenly.

morning.
i been busy getting college stuff squared away...
there is now enough snow for me to have A job. i teach ski lessons at the ski hill in leavenworth...
now all i need is people to come here and sign up.....

it is now obvious that the one sickly chicken is moulting... just took it a few months to show anything... but i now see some new feathers coming in on its head.... i wonder when it will lay eggs again??

i am thinking of adding in those chicks in a week or so... i would like them to all get along before the one chick starts crowing... cause i have a 10lb roo...

what are the odds that my roo and this banty milli chick (roo) will get along??? i am not sure if the other milli is a roo yet because i do not see saddle feathers and it doesnt streach its neck out..... it is actually really timid.....
