LOL...did you video the dance? I want to see.
Very cute baby btw.

Yeah, I'll show you video of my dance once I see yours. Besides, once everyone sees what great dancers we are, they'll want us to teach classes. I don't know about you, but I don't have the time.

Nope...never see this fat lady dance...LOl.
Of course, you are correct, if they saw our dance...we would have to give classes. It would go viral on YouTube and then we would have to do presentations and shows and appearances. There would be world tours...ya' you are right. I just don't have time.

Hello!

The so-saying non pregnant T-Hi likes the bread & butter pickles, eh? Lol.
I love the crispy Clausen's. Yum. How do they make them like that?!

Blinky, your pic is cute. Before you get into too much trouble around here, better start calling your 'Ameracauna' an Easter Egger. EE's are tons of fun- you never know what kind of egg you'll get from her. Most are green (mine lays a grey-green), some lay pink, some brown, some purple, and some actually lay the blue that they are sold with the precontaxt of (though not many).

I am still thinking about HL & Mr. H, as well as RM. Losing a close member of the family is very difficult. HL, have you able to make the arrangements for your mum? *sigh* I've been thinking a lot lately about the circle of life. We have so much excitement about our little parasite (aka tumor, bun, fetus), while seeing some of our geriatric patients on their last leg. I think I'm starting to understand why my Grandma was always so non-chalant about aging & death. The outcome is the same, no reason to fret. I'm not there but maybe ask me when I'm 80, my tune might change…

CR, congrats on the job. Any new bell or sculpture developments? Have you thought about starting an Etsy account (vs Farmers Mkt). I'm not sure how you go about starting one or what the process is but it may be worth looking into.

Interesting, I was just going with what the feed store had the chicks labeled as. I wasn't sure if anyone had good reason for a preference over Easter Egger vs Ameraucana. I'll go with Easter Egger (EE). Easier to spell.

yes -- feed stores tend to call those chicks "ameracaunas", "americanas", and even "aracaunas" --- however they don't conform to the breed standards of Ameraucanas nor Araucanas -- the breeders of those are very protective of their breed names, and get quite huffy when someone claims to have one ... that doesn't exhibit one of the accepted colors, or markings, or conformation, or breeding

the conversations about those can get heated !!!!

actually I am delighted to have Easter Eggers -- that's what I wanted, that's what I got, never mind that the hatchery and feed store had them under the Americana label ...

my only regret is that they were all supposed to be PULLETS ... then one of the prettiest of the bunch wound up learning to crow

Good to know. Our birds are about 10 weeks old now, and no crowing yet. Still keeping my fingers crossed. I've been happy with the different breeds that we picked, but our salmon faverolle is super neurotic and moody. She got really sick when she was a couple weeks old, so I'm wondering if that made her insane. Maybe. Oh well, at least she pulled through.

Now officially a chicken owner. though I may be single soon. Hubby not happy that I got them before moving back to Idaho. Oh, well, live and learn Right? Thanks to VelvettFog for driving the 6 hours to get them and bring them back. I'll post pics soon
