Okay chicken pros, a question: Today is day 21, I have 7 eggs in the incubator. When are they considered late? I have the water test that you all shared, but not sure when they are considered late. How old do I let them be to do the "feather sexing"? They are pretty fuzzy, but I tried on a couple and I can see some of the pin feathers. Should I wait until they are a couple days old? I got little leg bird bands to put on the boys, just to see if I can get fairly accurate. Should I candle the eggs to check for motility?

The waiting kills me.

Question about waiting for all the eggs to hatch: Hatching began about 24 hours ago which was day 20. 2 hatched last night before I went to bed and when I got up this morning 3 more had hatched. This afternoon, 1 more for a total of 6 so far. I had 9 go into lock down on Tuesday and those were all showing signs of being lively. I know I'm supposed to wait, what, 48 - 72 hours before I decide everyone who wants to come out is out?
With all the broken shells and goofy babies climbing all over each other it's impossible to tell if the other 3 are even pipping. Is there a point when you'd snatch out the babies and broken shells and leave the last three? OR, should I just sit on my hands and keep taking pictures for another day before I touch ANYTHING. I'm fine with waiting but don't want to not do anything if I should be doing something. Does that make sense? Besides, I'm still putting that big giant brooder together, so don't have their home ready at this moment.

Of course, you are correct, if they saw our dance...we would have to give classes. It would go viral on YouTube and then we would have to do presentations and shows and appearances. There would be world tours...ya' you are right. I just don't have time.
