My biggest tip is to look at the size of the air sac in every egg. Sometimes the egg is just so darn full, that it is hard to actually see the chick moving in there, so I go by the size of the air sac, especially at lockdown. The more you look at, the more you will know if it is the correct size for lockdown. In earlier candling's it's easier to see a blood ring or to tell that the chick isn't moving.
