On the Brinsea Octagon 20, I understood that you fill both chambers with water and open the vent only 1/3 of the way to keep the humidity up, but still have enough ventilation. I think we need some other Brinsea users to chime in here.

Ok yea I reread it, so I adjusted accordingly , I got the chambers filled but, then remember reading a post a while back saying their humidity was too high?? Thanks !

NO! But it sounds hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!

yes I remember that -- also the long series about the couple who were "going to Tukwila" every day (or more) for years ... running series in .. might have been the Times, might have been the P-I ... embarrassing

chicks are getting smart on me, these days when I let them out of the old run, shepherding them over to the always moving chicken tractor, they are now FLYING most of the way ... I hardly need to drop any bread bits to entice them any more ... except for Phoebe, who seems to have become somewhat neurotic --- she is bottom of the pecking order and often can't seem to find a place at the feeder

I love watching them when they try to fly!!!

I haven't taken out the wee chicks. It's still a little cold for them here, but I have taken the dog crate with the older chicks out. If nothing else it gives me a chance to get some of the smell out of the laundry room. I figure they might as well get used to the outside. Their coop should come this week end, and the older chicks will be out of the house for good.

Well, it has been sunny here for a few hours, beach fog all gone..it is going to be very warm today!!!

I gotta get out & open the green house door & the vents on the squash hoop house..and then we have to catch chickens to transport & sell today in Grayland, and catch & sell Guineas to transport to Montesano, along with several wine bottle ducks.
So, alot of catching & birds to put in the van.
Ought to be very noisy in there, I am not looking forward to it.
The Guineas can drive a person insane with their noise, especially in close confines....

But they gotta go, their pen is in the way and they hate DH and scream at him every time he walks by..which is often..they hate him & know he hates them.
I wanna say FANTASTIC that T finally has some results that now some treatment & hopefully healing can finally begin!!!!!!!!!!!!
wee.gif

Love ya girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hugs.gif

And I hate to know you are so sick & suffering!!
Hope Haller heals up & gets back on your feets too!!
clap.gif

OK, gotta go get work done, but first a big thanks to Ogress!
She and DH gave us a motorcycle they no longer wanted.
DH is excited to get to work on it so much, that I fear I will never get my new coop done now...
he.gif

But..I will insist!!!!!!!!!!!!
CR, maybe we can work something out on this net, I have yet to unroll it & see size.
I will do so today & take pics & measurements...
My head feels too full of brains today, I think I have a bad sinus thing going on..so bad I almost feel feverish and cannot hold my head up...rocks in my head?
Probably from going up to Ogress' way way waaaaaaaaaaay up in the mountains was too high for this beach woman...and now my brains are swelling up?

I feel awful!!

OH MY GOD!! some one else who loves that movie!! I love JW I don't care what movie he's in!! I love that one especially and watch it every year around St paddy's day!! I know what about "5 miles?" " It's just a wee stretch O the leg" !!! And yes I bet it was cooked well, they had lots to deal with and probably know what to do with it!!! LOL
lau.gif

every now and then I catch myself hmm the first part of the movie when he's getting on the train!! Bumpm bumpm bumpm....tadadada....bumpm bumpm bmumpm..... lol
lau.gif

My dd loves it too, she's still in WY and she told me when she moves back that's the first thing we are going to do is watch The Quiet Man and Singing in the Rain together!!
hit.gif

man, I love and miss that kid!!!
love.gif

Yes the "bumpm bumpm" music is contagious!
One line I say to my kids all the time is "Wipe yer moody boots!" I also love when Maureen goes to talk to the preist and he's trying to catch 'his' fish. He has it on and his line snaps. 'GOD HELP US' So funny!
If anyone has not seen this old classic I would recommend it highly! Maybe me being Irish helps me to love it more.

I know the Irish in me loves it too!!!
love.gif
I have the directors addition so it has a commentary from Maureen about the movie, what it took to make it, about the actors, lots of interesting things, stuff about where they filmed in Ireland, It was such a low budget film it almost didn't get made. One of the biggest reasons is cause of JW and MO'H!!!
How bout "is that a bed or a parade ground" ?? LOL " A man would have to be a sprinter to catch his wife in a bed like that" LOL.... I better go, I'm having too much fun and not getting anything done!! I'll have to watch that movie tonight too!!!

Yea, it was pretty funny! Don't know if I can find that on line but I might look, Oh BTW CL what bird netting did you use and where do you get it?? Is it expensive?? some of the stuff my BF looked at said it was pretty high??

I use common bird netting made to put over fruit trees.
You can buy it on line at various nurseries or at alot of nuseries here.
Hardware stores carry it too, and it comes in all sorts of sizes.
I got my last one at a Ace Hardware in So Bend, and they looked up the sizes in the suppliers book & ordered it as they did not have it in stock.
It cannot take a snow load though, and will bend way down.
I have to get bundled up & beat the snow off from underneath the sagging net, with a broom.
I come out looking like a snowman...

A
few examples if this link works.
Measure your run. and shop close by at Nurseries, or better yet, let your fingers do the walking.
And remember most places can order what size you need.
Support must be underneath vast clear spans, and I strung 50 pound monofilament (big roll from walmart) back & forth and then the net on top attached by little wire cable ties.
