Yeah, I guess it was. I let those crude guys get under my skin and I shouldn't have. Glad I saw my friend at the Thai place. They (not my friends!) were really crude on my way in, but DD was not with me then since I had dropped her off. They were standing around a kiddie wading pool and were calling out for me to come play in the pool with them. As I passed and had my back to them, I felt a few drops of liquid hit my arm, and I assumed it was water, but I turned to see what they were doing and one of them was pissing across the wading pool toward me! I scrubbed when I got to the school. Next time I have to park so far, I think Iwill go to the library parking lot to avoid the pigs.

Sounds like they were well socialized. I'm really glad that you're happy with your birds.

I think the woman I got them from did a great job of raising them to be OK with people, no doubt, but I think they really like having a pheasant-style run with plenty of room and plenty of cover.

Nice work on the coops, broody! Are those the big shipping crates? Wow! They are huge! Are you going to make 3 roofs or one big one?

We got some donated metal roofing so it will be 1 big one at least 4 now.

Those are the C list crates we got for 50$ plus the gas to haul them down here. They are 8x7x5 with hinged double doors! Nice 1/2 inch plywood, 2x4 and 1x4 framing. Hope they hold up to chicken traffic well!

I think the way they are raised is more than people think sometimes.
The Leghorns I have, which are supposed to flighty and skittish, are very calm and love to come and jump up in my lap. Nice yours are so great for you!

Yeah, he graded it away but we are still going to need to divert other water. The roof will be sloped down hill to a gutter and the water will run down the hill to a creek at the bottom of out property. I'm might reclaim some of that water and use it elsewhere, we'll see. We will probably clear some of the scrub and limb up some of the trees to open it up a little.
He also has industrial metal roofing that he is going to give us to roof with so that is another blessing!
I'm gonna use sand in the run and just let them free range for part of the day. Nice to see it all coming together.
Oh and I have your business card design on a CD for ya. Jeff said to print at home, you'll have to download the avery program but its free.
Clovers AM's should be pipping away any time now if all went well.

Some of you have seen or have my business cards, I get them from zazzle.com ............and right now they have a 10% off code is: CY02

You can surf thousands & thousands of designs, and photos, and then add any printing you like, and then any paper or item you want it printed on.
They have biz cards, flyers, coffee mugs, T-Shirts & the like.
Prices are good too.
I love the way I get to 'design' my own card.
Check it out!!

Where is everyone ?

It is misty rainy here, and a balmy 50-60 degrees, and no breeze at all--- perfect no-see-um weather.

The buggers started coming out last night..and DH took Jack out for his run & play time after dinner...wearing shorts & sandals...and came back in a hour later COVERED in bites, mostly around the ankles.
He has a bite every sq inch...yowsers!!
I got a few, but sprayed myself with cutter.
Then showered once indoors.
It ticks me when he does this, as every bite mans a female can now go lay a hundred eggs which will hatch in a few days and we will have MORE than the zillions we already have.

I told him to put some cutter on, and pants and STOP FEEDING THE NO-SEE-UMS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All chickies, birdies & duckles are A-OK this morning...the weather has stayed warm enough for Mr. Monster pumpkin as he continues his trek out of the hoop house, heading for the outside world.
I hope we get REALLY BIG PUMPKINS!!!!!

This is "Wyatt's Wonder".and actually there are 4 in there...so I won't be surprised to get 150-200 pound pumpkins !

Think I sent seeds to Rainwolf...she is a bit behind in gardening, but these monsters grow so fast you can watch them grow !!
get really good compost-they are very heavy feeders!!!
