Here are some pics. I know the black one is a roo, just don't know what kind. The Brown one was labeled amerecauna, maybe yes, maybe no?

After dealing with Whitey being broody for the past week and tossing her off of the next 3 times a day, DH and I decided to put her in a wire cage with food and water for a couple of days to see if we can break the broodiness. While we were messing around in the coop we saw the barnevelder, Mimi was sitting in the nest box next to Whitey. We had tossed Whitey out again, but she turned around and came right back in and sat on poor Mimi's head since she decided that was the only nest that could be used out of the three.

We got Whitey Ford situated and went to sit on our sunny deck for a while.

Yay for Vitamin D! On the way back in, I noticed Mimi was off of the nest and running around in the run where it seems she had left her first little fart egg. I had to clean it off, but we are very proud of our girl. I hope this is a going trend now since currently none of our 4 young ladies have been laying!
This little egg is the same color as the terra cotta dish. Love it.
Just had to share -

I first started out going to Sumner Animal Grub but the prices are a little high. I now go to Del's in Buckley. As far as shavings there is a place, between Bonney Lake & Buckley, close to the lumber/log place, that sells by the truck load. They are there most Saturdays. It was cheaper to go that route then buy by the already packaged shavings. Keeping it all dry is another story, we have it tarped but still some gets wet. My Jack Russell likes that he can potty in it & not get rained on grrrr, atleast the chickens dont mind. Not sure if you have a truck to haul shavings in. Let me see if I can find their name & number. Hillside Gardens Sawdust & Shavings Co (360) 829-2707, 27213 State Route 410 E, Buckley, WA 98321. I too would like to find a small coop to raise a couple chicks till they get big enough to put with the almost 1yr olds.

I like big photos. It makes 'em easier for me to see. And YEAH they're cute. I have no idea what either breed is though.

Had a nice visit with Hallerlake & Honeysuckle hills last night. There were 5 of us in all- a small group but still lots of fun. Promiseland brought in 2 little fart eggs to show everyone. They were pretty cute- none of mine ever laid one.

I just wormed my hens with that 2 weeks ago - I did not use Wazine first as none of my hens was over 9 mo with the exception of the ones from zgoat and RFF, and I figured they have been wormed in the past. I think I used .5 cc per bird, I'd have to look it up. It is whatever someone posted here. I used a syringe to drop it on the skin on the back of the neck. I had no problems with the stuff dissolving or gumming up the syrings (I suspect the active ingredients have been brought to solution in DMSO). No adverse reactions in anyone, but I also saw no wormies in their poop, so I don't know how well it worked. Since there is no withdrawl time, I continued selling the eggs to my neighbors with the chicken-eating dog (but I first stock-piled a supply for us

I think any worms in the gut would be ground up in the gizzard & then poo'd out.
The ascarids can live in 3 stages in the body, and you were supposed to worm every 7 days, 3 X to get them as the leave the blood & migrate.
Since this eprinex is dropped on the skin & absorbed over time, I can only assume you give the dose one time, and it is supposed to kill lice, mites & scaley leg buggers too.
Looks like good stuff to me!

2nd pic is an EE - note the slate colored legs. Idk about the 1st- marans? I'm 95% unsure on that one besides that it's probably a chicken. Lol.

And bones, which is downright thorough of them.

They are supose to be great to eat..

I have research sumatras & have not seen any black skinned ones.
The silkies are the ones the asians here seem to want..how gross to eat such a cute chicken..but they LOVE black chicken.
Looks like a rubber chicken made of car tire cooking in a pan to me...

I have to go back to work but stopped in.
I am trying (and failing) to resize pics I send in e-mails, protested by my Mom & sister who have told me my pics arrive with them as HUGE and they have to scroll to see bits of them.
I have downloaded photoscape, and tried to resize a few, but do not think it works....
