Hi & Thanks for the welcome. I'll look forward to meeting her, I don't live close but we drive over there to visit once in a while. The people we bought the chickens from told me about it, what a hoot!

: I'm sorry for your losses, take care. And by the way.... 98117 was my zip for quite a while. I miss it actually.

They are both the same direction. I'll look into altering it. A neighborhood dog would have to get past our 5' and 6' foot fences.

Yeah, I remembered that you've got a good dog-proof fence.

I'm all kinds of hypervigilant this week.

The trick is finding and plugging all the young chicken sized holes at the bottom of the fence. The fences were designed for children and dogs, not chickens. The Brabanters may have to grow a bit more before I let them out of the enclosure.

This afternoon, when the Brabanters were outside in the dog crate, I saw Blondie, my cockerel, standing up to Maisie through the bars. She's twice his size, but he was going to defend his little flock. Maisie took him quite seriously fluffing up her neck, and ready to bump chests.

We're off to the Elma show in the morning. I am sooo behind today. I finally gave up and just washed crests and butts and that'll have to do. Hope to see some of you there!

I'm in Roy. I have 4 amaracaunas, 4 bantys 4 buff pros, 2 barred rocks, 1 red shouldered Yokohama, 1 leghorn, 1 naked neck, and 2 ducks. I also have 2 goats, and a Chihuahua.....hi my fellow washingtonians

I always set my gates one up one down. This is also very important if it is a gate you want to lock to keep people out.

Had a pretty decent day today. Hauled scrap to town then Scott from Patriot called he has 2 swarms of bees that need homes. I am going before first light and with any luck will get em both in hives. He gets one and I get the other. Kind of funny since Scott and I were just talking about the bees a few days ago and he told me the sound kind of freaks him out. I told him the sound doesn't bother me except the day they got inside the suit with me. That was not a fun time.

looks like we won't make Elma -- DH has something he MUST do, and he'll need the reliable car

I never got a call back to find out exactly where the show grounds were, anyway ... I know Elma is not that big, but ....

hope you have a good time and do well
