Woke up to what I believe was the sound of a dying goose. It wasn't, I still don't know what went on down there last night. But being the addict I am, I had to see who said what while I was sleeping.

Good morning!! It seems some of you have gone off the brink of looney into the pit of insanity while I wasn't looking. I have no idea what you are talking about!!

And - looks like my chicks have ended up in the witness protection program (or they are defecting). Maybe after a day at the office they decided they had had enough of chick labor.

In response to someone - the top chick is cochin/austrolorp. Her name is Snowflake as she was hatched during the only snowflakes I have seen this year. Apparently you will be seeing her picture on the back of milkcartons soon!

Kim - I sooo need to send $$$ - I am soo guilty. And, yes, recipe to Weaveagarden. The problem with that is it involves some advance planning on my part. I am not so good at that. More of an improvisation kind of folk.

CINDY - hee heee!!! Were are those chicken authorities when you need them!! I gotta rat out weaveagarden, rustler and rustler2!! Who knew I would find such shady characters in the land of chicken? It all seemed so innocent, officer. I had no idea what I was getting into. Really, I was just in the wrong place, wrong time...

Gwen - I LOVE LANGLEY!!!!! Can't wait to check out your blog!

So due to weather conditions or "snow trip" to Leavenworth has turned into a last minute Great Wolf Lodge nickle and dime trip. Well, I am off to water tube my buns off before the bank runs dry!!

When I first got into chickens I drove over to Ritzville Wa. to Hardners Hatchery.
So then it began.
That was along time ago. I'm sure there still in buisness.
Nice older people own and operate the place.

So as far as the Birthday went "INCREDABLE" I say,
We started off with a Brizilian Buffett and I went on to win over 2 hunded dollars.
Only stayed a couple hour but I had a couple of Mac and Jacks and was done.

Thanks to all who gave me luck IT WORKED!
THANK YOU,
Mike

Hi all. Donna, I am pretty sure that is some sort of game that the 3 are playing. Just not sure how it goes. A mystery thing I think.... You use your name or other info to break the "code" for your identity or something like that.
Secrets, secrets..........

I am so glad your birthday went well Mike. And, I am so glad you made that trip to Ritzville, aren't you?

The kids (chicks from Mike) are doing so well, but not quite big enough to throw them into the mix. I hate that in-between age when I don't know what to do with them. I guess I need an intermediate stage living quarters for them. I have 3 definate males and I believe 2 more who aren't as "comb and wattle - y" But I would say I have 2 definate Marans girls and 1 Barnevelder... So you did good Mike. One of the Maran's shows the black and one the black copper traits.... At least that is what I am figuring since they are different colored. Only the Males have any foot feathers. FYI

10 for 12 for two days in a row. 1 brown and 1 green short each day. But different chickens... So that is pretty good, I think! But still waiting for the number to climb to that eventually perfect day.

So, I have a face now..... I just don't know what to do with it. Happy to have friends on there, but I don't know anybody's names, so you will need to invite me, please.

Yes, it was my goose sounding like she was dying. I have no idea what woke her up though. I'm imagining she got stepped on by a duck or something.

Glad you had a great birthday Mike!

Oh oh oh, I need the info to get the other Mike some feed. Could someone post it.

Hi there

I just saw this thread & thought I would post.

I live in Enumclaw & I am a huge chicken fan.

Some people are dog people, I am a chicken person. All my chickens are loved, spoiled & pampered beyond belief. I have (or should I say HAD) every type of breed. They have their own "chicken arena" which consists of their two coops, a tire swing, a fort, a teeter-totter & picnic table. They also have their own sprinkler (in the summer time) & a ladder that they love to perch on. They talk to us, come when we call them, love to share lunch with us if we are having a picnic, sit on our laps & perch on our shoulders.

I posted a thread on here last night about the problem I am facing with my chickens. Lately we are losing them. Three die, then nothing. Then five die, then nothing. I can't figure it out.

I'm absolutely stressed out & completely heartbroken. The thread I started is titled "Please help, our pet chickens keep dying" in case any of you guys CAN help. I would very much appreciate it!! Especially since all of you are Washingtonians... maybe you would know more of what I can do.

Anyway, I would love to get to know you guys. It's nice to meet other chicken fans!

Hope to hear from you soon.
