Notice, nobody mentioned white layers??? I think I;m the only white egg lover. (I have more Brown)

I love My California White. she is the friendliest chicken in my flock. She gives me a nice white egg. California whites would be my FIRST choice. Gold sexlinks are pretty and lay almost every day.

and speckled sussex lay a cream egg... I'm going for all different egg colors this year!

All my friends east of the Cascades, talk about us all living on the coast. I know they just don't get it. The Coast is still another 140 miles or so west of here. That's almost like another planet. It's the kind of place that weaveagarden lives at, not us inlanders.

I know Tsunami isn't going to get me here. It will just be the high wind warnings in the Cascade foothills.

Herbandteas,

Since we rescue rabbits, it's subject to change. Right now, we have:
2 English Angoras (neutered males)
1 spotted mini-lop (neutered male)
2 California Rex mixes (females)
1 Velveteen Mini-Rex (female)
1 black mini-lop/dwarf mix (female)

A motley crue, to be sure!

WELL!!!! Just to set the record straight Mr. Ron. I do happen to have 1 that lays a white and one that lays a very light cream. These are our 2 fav chickens. Mostly because they are our Sicilian Buttercup and OEGB.

I would have one again, if I just could be sure that the nasty little dogs that live with me wouldn't eat my bunny.

(That would be very very sad if that happened)

I miss my little George a lot some days, and he has been gone a long time now. (about 1991?) He was the cutest little house trained black dwarf bunny.

I suppose I could get a really BIG bunny then the nasty little dog would have to think twice about harassing my bunny.

As much as I love the nasty little dogs, some days they are a real pain to live with.

My first bunny was a Flemish Giant bunny named Mama. She was nice enough, if you don't mind getting hurt occasionally
tongue.gif
, but she wasn't as nice as George. Oh well I will just have to live vicariously through all you other bunny owners.

So do you think that a bunny could learn to use a dog door?
lau.gif
I can't think of a reason why not.

I think I am avoiding again. I need to go to the Library.

I have one hen that lays a mostly white egg. The Silver Lakenvelder is a very good girl about her egg. I don't know if it is truly pure white though, it's mostly white with the faintest tint. I would think that it would be called egg shell if it was a paint color.

Now I know I am avoiding. Oh well I need to go now…..

I keep trying to tempt you with these tiny little bunnies I have C. they are so small that you could keep them in an aquarium like I do. Nobody could get to them that way. They have big ears and long tails and the breed is African Pygmy Mouse Rabbits. I should have some for you by the time of the party if all goes well........

Thank you for your kind offer Cindy,

but it's never going to happen. I don't do rodents! They are the only class of critters that I will not own or live with. It has to do with a hamster that spent the spring break at your house back when I was a teenager. We spent the whole week chasing that little beast through the house's heating system. I swore I would never do a rodent again. Things are looking really very good that this will be a successful lifetime decision.

I am always willing to let others own the little buggers.

Now I am really very happy that bunnies are not rodents. This way I can still have a bunny someday.
