The Hamburgs have landscaped their run; some of the grass is left long, and in other places it's flat to the dirt in paths and plazas. They'll eat all the tall grass and bedstraw I put in with them, but not the same species in their favored tufts. I've been cutting grass to put in to the runs every day, or picking slugs when it's cooler.

Yesterday everyone got romaine lettuce from the wrong shelf in the fridge instead of grass, though. Two weeks we bought lettuce after not eating any. Dumb.

Rain has stopped, time to go out for slug patrol into the big garden. Must get more of the watering setup in the hoop house, and pot up more peppers!

so irritated.
I have to quickly make some Naughty Duck pens for the call ducks to keep them safe while we are out of town.. why do they misbehave so for the housesitter? Silly ducks. ANyway... Had found a nice dog kennel on CL, called and made arrangements to pick it up, and was supposed to call the guy on The Day of pick up.. called left message and never heard back. Rude. I don't care if he sold it out from under me, that's how CL works, but at least let me KNOW for pete's sake.

Aren't you 'sposed to let people know?? Especially if they have made arrangements??
