We were out walking along the river in Woodinville this afternoon. It was only in the low seventies, but sooooo humid. We were sweating.

My mother had a trailer (horse) in the back - last year. DH sat on top of it and shot 12 (yes TWELVE) skunks as they came out from under an old out-building on the back 40. I made him strip to his "almost" skivvies before he came in the house...he stunk so bad. I don't think there is a worse smell.

So Overo ?

You know, to be honest, I get the patern names mixed up, so I'm not gonna make a fool outta myself, by saying what pattern she is. lol

she is considered an overo, the pattern she shows is splash (which is called overo at APHA). American paint horses are a breed, pinto is a pattern. Paints and quarter horses are still paints and quarters if under 14.2 hands but most people call them quarter or paint ponies. Pony is a size, anything under 14.2 hands is considered a pony, anything over is a horse. everyone interprets it their own way. She is a really pretty girl, in the western world she would just be considered small if under 14.2 and not a pony...cowboys dont ride ponies lol. if she is only a 3 year old expect her to grow a little more.

have fun with her! and then come over here and help me get my monster colt trained lol. we are working on leading. he isnt doing to bad

OK so I will admit I had never heard of the quarter pony. But here it is stupid as it may be. Because see where do MINI horses come in they are less than 14.2 but are not called ponies.

And as for Overo and Tobiano the way I keep em straight is that I don't like a lot of white (tobiano) so too much and overo are OK !!

The Quarter pony is a breed of pony that is similar to the American Quarter Horse. It stands up to 14.2 hands (58 inches, 147 cm) high and was developed from American Quarter Horse foundation bloodstock and is used today in a variety of western riding disciplines.
