I so understand, I told my husband ( he's my second) that I would stay with him a year and if it wasnt working I was on my way I wasnt going to waste my time, that I had taken to much from my first one. Plus I had a son... So two years later we got married.

yep me too! Life is too short to be messing around, and not that I would be out there looking if we split but, I want someone who wants me, not just someone to watch his house and do the domestics ..... if you get my drift!!

UGH!!!
That is MY problem...and we have both been married & divorced or widowed, X2 each........kids are all gone & we have been together 10 years now, and I am tired of the free samples, if you get MY drift.
We have 2 homes, in both names and each has our own kids...we need to be more than business partners as far as I am concerned.
My sister says "what would happen if he was killed ?
Or sick in the hospital with a terminal illness?"
Would his kids just kick me out ?
Could they?
And could they just make life & death decisions for him & push me aside ?
And there is always the fact that I would not get his SS payments, and I would have to pay quite a giant hunk of money to transfer his half of the 2 estates into my name only, and have to pay an inheritance tax !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way past time to be considerate & prove one cares about the person they supposibly love....especially if they die, and leave you behind.

I would have to use my money to bury him, and could not access his savings to bury him...it's applesauce.

We have been raising our herd of goats for going on 9 years now. We have had them get out on many occasion, yes, they nibble on things, yes they eat some of the roses, but they never eat them down enough to kill them, nor do they eat enough of any of the "bad" plants that they will get sick, let alone die. Like I said before, unless your not giving them anything to eat, they do just fine.

Goat owner's dogs and the neighbor's dogs are more of a danger to your goats, than any plant, or wild animal will ever be.

Not Hemlock!!!!!!!

It is so nasty here...rain, then this heavy mist that can blow right under the eaves & wet the window glas...humidity has to be 99%...it is like being in a cloud.
Cold yesterday & today and no sun at all.
Yesterday's high was 60.
Mr Pumpkin is not amused & thinks he lives in the Antarctic.
I been waiting to do laundry for several days, for sun, to hang clothes outside..but it is not happening so doing laundry anyways.......gotta have clothes.
Too wet to paint myself !!!

Still not catching even 1 rat!
tried the velvetta for 2 days & got nothing.
Then tried bacon last night...and still nothing.

I am at a loss of what to do now but start at the beginning with peanut butter
hu.gif

I did catch a pointy nosed shrew thing, though...tiny little guy.
On peanut butter in a mouse trap.
That's all!
We have had droves of deer hanging out & sauntering through the property..bucks in velvet, fat as can be on this great grass!
Well, I am off to get some work done, what I do not know as it is so wet & raining...

Some Summer....the whole orchard looks unhappy but the apples.
The apples look like they are completely happy.
Locked down some games & quail & pheasants last night, along with 5 of my feather shanked & toed Cuckoo Marans...they WERE fertile, the 2 gorgeous new cockerals doing their jobs, and are NICE birds, not agressive nor mean.
They are my boys from my super sweet hens, so that explains why they are so sweet.
Anyways, all 5 are developed & pip day is the 3rd...excited to see how much feathered shanks the chicks will have.

My first shipment of Meaties is 5 weeks old.
3 or 4 weeks and it will be freezer camp here.

I need more eggs so bad , that we have not been able to use even 1 egg for ourselves.
That is difficult for me especially due to my having to bake my own GF breads, scones, etc.

I have egg customers lining up & waiting, and egg customers that are on a list I call when I have a doz for them.
Several of these people drive 30-40 miles to get their eggs here (

)
But justify the trip to coincide their other marketing & weekly outtings.
Their activities revolve around the carton of eggs.

On top of not having enough to go around, I have to collect at least a doz Cuckoo Marans to set a hatch for Whidbey....he has a "project" going

Yeah, I know- I had relatives in Omak.

When my Mom was little, her family used to drive from Yelm to Omak every summer after the hay was in and the cows were all dry (old-timey Jersey Dairy, back when refrigeration was not so grand, and they bred all their cows to calve from August to early October): Grandpa and Grandma and however many of their dozen kids (the eldest two were married before the youngest was born) piled into a Model T pick-up, over White Pass and through the Wenas before any of the real highways were made (this being 1930-1936, Mom was born in 1926 and her father died ten years later), and before most of it was paved: 25mph all the way. Can you imagine? It's far enough, anyway, without the complications of travel with little kids, travel on bad roads, and travel in July in a Model T. Luckily, at that time, they had relatives at about 20 mile intervals all the way!

yep that would be quite an adventure I think!!

"Ordeal" was the term I heard used

ya know what CL that was my point EXACTLY! so your with this person and share everything including money and property and something happens, and their family can take it all away if they want, he has a good job and why shouldn't I be covered under his insurance?? Oh....cause we're not married!! And I won't get into how other's get covered because of their special case!! if you get that!! yea, and now we have this court case cause his daughter is a selfish vendictve and jealous 25 yr old who is married and has children and can't stay out of her dad's affairs, decided to press charges on me over an argument, I won't go into detail except to say, I had left the premisses and wasn't aware she had called the cops, her statement was such a fat lie, and her dad is on my side, so it's one big mess, she saw her gravy train ending and decided to cause trouble!! so that is one reason we are keeping it on the down low!! I was in a long term 10 yr and I won't even go into the horror of that one, just know, I found out he was a monster and my children paid the consequences.....

I sort of wish I could go from Omak to Toppenish today: as wet as it's been, there should be some amazing flowers in bloom.

Isn't Toppenish 30 minutes on the other side of Yakima when you're coming from Omak?

Yup - maybe 45 min

Agree about dogs, but: nine years? Raising livestock has yet to begin to surprise you. We still come up against new bad things, and we've had cattle on this place since before I was born.
