I agree. I was really bummed about my GLW. I have 2 SLW that were big & plump. Even though they are hatchery I feel they have the correct look for a SLW. The GLW was horrible quality, she had pretty color & that was it. No body to her. I was very disappointed in her. I did keep the RIR & they are good. I don't know the standard on them but with them I'm just looking for good layers & good personality which they both have. Although one has taken to chasing my sheltie & cocker (females) so they try to avoid the chickens. The chickens like to stand next to the steps & the sheltie won't come up the steps if that chicken is next to it. Sometimes its silly but other times its frustrating when I need the dogs back in the house & the chicken is being a pain.

And to make it all worse for me, dear sweetie has 4 daughters, also all married with children, but their Mom divorced him when they were 8-10 years old or so, and after several years she got colon cancer, did nothing about it, and died.
The girls are left with serious nasty Electra Complex.

Not one will 'see' that he is here (and we LEFT them in CA!!!) because he wants to be, and we are HAPPY together.
FiL still laughs and tells the story of when he was a boy, oldest of 4 boys, and Dad died.
His Mother then dated, and scored several decent hard working men after that, and the boys would play hell running the guys off from her.
He tells horror stories of how mean they were to each & every man she had.
A few she married, and still the boys managed to run them off, leaving their mother alone, broke depressed & trying to work to pay for the farm & 4 boys.
One day it dawned on FiL as he turned into a teen, what love & partnership was all about, and how he had to go to work to support his mother.
He learned too late, and he had to support her the rest of his life.
Sad hard life for his Mom...

Oh CR. You were smart to have backed off here. Good thinking Pette, and congrats. I agree with you CL. More women need to protect themselves financially. After so many years together hopefully partners can trust each other to know nobody is trying to "take" anyone for anything, but a woman needs to be smart and think of her future! We can hope our partners live a long and healthy life, and that we ourselves will remain in good health but there are no guarantees...
