Poor baby - sorry. Hope they get control of that soon. Sounds like that is one more thing you did not need, especially after your brother is going back to Afghanistan.

Wow, what a day! I'm eggsauhsted! I'll need to go back and read what I missed in the last 24.

We had DD's birthday party today. She will be 10 on July 4. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned my house

Stoooopid me. Then I picked up a keg of rootbeer from Snoqualmie Falls Brewery (had a gift certificate for it), made pulled pork with rootbeer sauce from some of the pork I bought from Scott, yum! Rented a water slide. Party was supposed to be from 2-4, but due to people leaving on vacations and such, we had kids here Friday, and then starting at noon they started arriving today and the last left near 9pm. 14 kids! And parents, as most decided to stay and enjoy the beautiful weather, and when all the kids were racing down the waterslide the parents could sit back and relax. Pork was yum but gone by 1, but others ran to the store to get more stuff for everyone to snack on, plus we had lots of fruit.

Our cat got out and killed 3 wild baby bunnies. We have bunnies and bunny babies all over the place. She killed 2 yesterday. We try and keep her in, but she sneaks up when people go in and out, and it takes her less than a minute to return with a baby bunny. Momma bunny then abandoned the nest with 3 healthy babies, and the were then handling the babies and put them back in the nest. Someone went home to read up how to raise them, but their eyes are not even open! then the kids ran into the house and jumped in the pool with grass clippings all over themselves from the slide. 14 kids don't fit well into something a little bigger than a hot tub - water is everywhere!

I need a massage and a house keeper!

Oh, bummer. I was thinking Moses Lake. Dang.

Sorry. On the other hand, if it's 110 in Omak and you look at the weather map and sigh for my temps, you could declare it a health emergency to come over and pick berries, right?

Oh, my that would be a wonderful idea. I was in Wenatchee today, had to have scared the heck out of 95....it was over 90 for sure. Maybe around 93. It is 10:00 pm right now and is 65 degrees. I would love to come and get blackberries though. YUM-YUM

OH honey...you have come to the right place to be enabled. These people will .....SOOOO TAKE CARE OF YOU. I am of course jesting. They will come up with the correct amount for you. chickens don't have to be overly messy. Poop trays you clean like cat litter boxes. Let them free range. Water and let the poop "melt" into the yard. Limit their FR time. Their poo is very hot though, so do be careful with it. I have sand in the bottom of my run and it absorbs all the moisture and I come in with a rake and rake any big poo aside into a pile. Kitty scoop it up and into the compost it goes. Very doable, especially if you are only talking 3 or 4 or 5 or so birds. But let me warn you - this is a place for BAD chicken math. 1 chicken + 1 chicken does not necessarily = 2 chickens. Sometimes it equals 3, or may 5 or 10...depending on which enabler you are dealing with. Good luck and have fun.

BTW....I am behind in posting....so i am sure by now that you have an answer. oh well.

When DH and I were dating, I bought a baby llama on impulse. He was beautiful and I adred him. DH was furious. So furious that he brought it up in that pre-marriage counseling stuff we did. I think he thought this minister was going to tell me I was being selfish, but it was just the opposite. He thought it was great, and said there is nothing like caring for animals to nurture your spirit. He said basically what CGG wrote here. Luckily we had been seeing this man for quite some time already, and DH really respects him, so since then DH has been an enabler when it comes to pets.

I would think it best to just do the dogs as you would a child and teach them what is ok and what is not !!! JIMHO !!!!!

Well I have been able to get one to not chew on everything, she stays off the furniture so long as someone is "in" the room. But as soon as you leave, and she nows you cant see her. She's right up on it.

Personally, I would lie the two bigger dogs to sleep outside. But my DH and I dont agree. I put them out, he lets them in. That and we are nowhere near on the same page in training the dogs...

Yep, unfortunately in my home the same thing. No one is on the same page on manners and what is and IS NOT allowed. I am definitely ALPHA and when I holler they (dogs) usually scatter and listen. The two pups go to their kennels on command (they always get a treat in there). Antique dogs go under the bed for night-night. But, one of them just got on my bed and peed. Washing that blanket right now. I am thinking that she may have something going on physically....DH just thinks she is lazy. Which I have to agree with, because if it is raining out, she will not use the doggy door. But I do think there is something medical wrong right now for her to have peed on my quilt. Will take sample in on Tuesday...see if it is clear or what is up. Another pup: She likes to "hold" you in her mouth - kind of a bite, but not biting down. I discourage this behavior....everyone else in the house thinks it is cute and encourges it....she does chomp down harder at times....not on me though. It would really be helpful if all people were on the same page with what is allowed and not allowed.

I so agree with CGG. You don't want to cause problems with DH....but you have a right to have something in your life that you like that brings you relaxation and enjoyment. It is funny....I turned 40 and became tired of being everyone's door mat. I started standing up for myself and letting my feelings be heard. Not everyone liked it, but we merge and we "give and take". Remind your DH of his interests that he enjoys and that this is what you do and enjoy.

CGG said it much better than I did. It is late and I need more tea. Very sleepy.
