Oh had a great visit with Cl and DH and got some cornish babies!!! they are cool!! Oh which reminds me, Terry and I finished freezer camp for the mixed cockerels this last weekend, I tried putting them over the spit on the barbie and yea, kinda turned out dry and chewie!!!
So, then, I put them in the crock pot, still a bit chewie!! YUK!! So, note to self, if they aren't a meat breed, probably not a great idea to send them to freezer camp!!!
Glad I got my dark cornish roos to help me make that happen!!Thanks again CL!!! Oh and hmm, some how I ended up with an extra roo, coming home from CL's!! How does that happen?? So, I also went up to Zgoatlady's and picked up some goaties!! Had a good visit there too! It was mentioned on that trip that there seems to be a correlation in numbers between goats and chichens, they are kind of like Lay's potato chips, you can't have just one!!! LOL!! OH and
to all the newbies!! I did go back far enough to see there are a few on here! This is a great thread with lots of good peeps and info!! Well, better get to bed, got to get up early and milk and feed babies!!!
