I've heard this was pretty common. After my daughter was born by C-section her doctor detected a slight murmur that she said could be a hole in her heart. She didn't seem too concerned and said we would run some tests at Lily's first check-up, but I cried and cried. Family and friends were visiting us in the hospital over the next couple of days trying to tell me not to worry, but please - I knew nothing and was quite hormonal and this was my first and only baby! At her 2 week check up the murmur was undetectable. Just as many had told me, sometimes it happens and it closes up and is never an issue again.
Ack - so many things for new Moms to worry about. And so it begins. I'm trying to tell you like they told me - try to not worry and just enjoy the last couple weeks of your pregnancy!

Thanks! Just so much to worry about.

I spent another $100 today, buying some more items I needed for her....I'm waiting for my diaper bag from Amazon to show up...I have to get our room cleaned & go through my closet and purge a bunch of stuff....and set up the bassinet in there....DH has to get the car seat in the car...I have to pack my hospital bag, decide on a breast pump....AKKK!

Of course you are worried! You're a loving mommy, and you care very, very much. Try not to assume the worst until and unless it's proven.

There's a whole lot of normal changes that a baby goes through during labor and birth and right after birth- one of them is changing from placental to pulmonary circulation; normal "holes" in the heart close up when that happens.

Being born is a big change in life-style; for you and your baby both!

Insufficient progress on the Wyandotte coop today- the first progress in weeks, at least, but not much of it. MUCH time lost to sleeping in, to my husband forgetting stuff (which ate a full hour and a gallon of gas in extra running around) and me being fumble-fingered and sleepy even after ten hours of sleep.

Stupid reality!
