Thanks! Just so much to worry about.

I spent another $100 today, buying some more items I needed for her....I'm waiting for my diaper bag from Amazon to show up...I have to get our room cleaned & go through my closet and purge a bunch of stuff....and set up the bassinet in there....DH has to get the car seat in the car...I have to pack my hospital bag, decide on a breast pump....AKKK!

There's a whole lot of normal changes that a baby goes through during labor and birth and right after birth- one of them is changing from placental to pulmonary circulation; normal "holes" in the heart close up when that happens.

Being born is a big change in life-style; for you and your baby both!

That's kind of what the doctor said, too....

Sounds like you are in good hands with the dr. Sure it makes for more worry but this is just the beginning of your worry. You are not super mom even if you feel like it, let others do things for you so you can bond with your baby. I didn't & now that mine is almost 7yrs I don't feel like I bonded well with her. 1st time mom & having a baby come early put so much stress on me. Mine came at 33wks when water broke & coming fast butt first so they had to do a c-section. I didn't get to hold her right away, got to see her face & then she & hubby were rushed away. Pumping was fun, I was sore. Stress made milk less. Had to do part formula. At 4 months she did grow her mouth & I didn't need to pump anymore & she didn't make me sore, my milk came back in better too so she wasn't hungry after. That was a nice bonding time. So about at the 4 month mark is when my stress level calmed down.

Should your baby have something that doesn't close up on its own. Don't be afraid to ask for financal help. The hosp sent a lady from Social Services I think it was, we really could have used the money help because her 18 day stay in the NICU wasn't cheap. But I was afraid they were going to take my baby, that's all I knew about them. My hubby wasn't with me the day I talked to her so I turned down the money help. Man it was hard to pay the hosp bills for her & for me, mine was $10k & her's was $55k. We got through it & had a few people send us gift cards that helped us get through.

Not trying to scare you with my experience...really. You will do great. I will pray for you & the baby.

RFF- Sorry to hear you are worrying about one more thing. She will be alright and so will you. Try not to dwell on it if you can. It causes you and your baby stress you don't need right now. Sending you prayers and love!

Just got home from work and had dinner. I am going to sit down in a minute and watch my guilty pleasure......The Bachelorette! I love to watch people make fools of themselves on national TV! I also root for love too. Awww!

Cool and rainy here, but I don't think we got any thunder storms. Too bad, I love those!

Have a great night everyone!

I won't be going to any shows until probably Monroe, next spring.

Oh and I bought 25 curly (aka corkscrew) willows last spring (2010) and not a one made it through this last winter.

The only willows I've found to survive up here at the hybrid Austrees & hybrid screen willows...

Heather, I have just a regular ole' willow tree. I have been told it is probably one of the biggest in the county. We had about 30 ft taken out it a few years ago. If you want a "start" all you need to do is come and cut off a limb and stick it in water. It will root.

We are saying prayers for you both, and try to stay as unstressed as possible. Myself I decided at the last possible moments that I did not want to have my babies they could just stay in there, I did not want to share them with anyone

they would be safe and protected.... then mother nature took over
Your long wait is almost over and the wonder of her sweet little face and fingers and toes will soon be yours.

To put it simply, while she is inside you, she cannot use her lungs so the blood circulates straight through the heart. When she starts breathing air, the pressure in the heart changes and a little flap closes the hole.

Deep breath. . . in. . . out Welcome to yet another weird baby thing.

By any chance does you DH teach in Omak?

Nope, Okanogan.

Oh well, I have 2 cousins in your area that are/were in the school district "family". Barb DeHaan/Christianson who taught in Omak, and Denise Busbin (recently re-married, can't think of new surname).
