Breath deep, and give your mom a call in a little bit. She is most likely in shock. I remember when I was 17 and the Dr.s found a tumor at the base of my skull... It took me quite a while to get my head strait.

So sorry.

Thank you....I'm in shock, too....to find out via FB is bad enough....but not see that message and then not be able to get a hold of her???

Oh Heather, my heart goes out to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry !!!
I am assuming due to dizziness that this is a brain tumor ?
Maybe it can be treated....
I wish I could help..always feel so helpless when someone has this happen.......so sorry!!!!!!!!

Thank you guys....I think DH's truck is over at the in-laws' house now....I'm trying to gather myself and call over there and ask that he come home without breaking down on the phone or freaking them out--thinking I'm in labor or something....

Heather, ten to one she is "protecting" you, knowing that you are already vulnerable because of the news from your latest ultrasound; and I bet she didn't realize you would read her Facebook posting so soon

my guess is, she didn't want to upset you right at this time, and also she may want to gather more information before she tells you all about it

it is MUCH easier to convey drastic news to people you know only casually; very difficult to face your nearest and dearest

I'm sure she has been inundated with calls and emails, she may be failing to answer the phone because SHE can't deal with the sympathy

have faith, give her time, she is in shock and not wholly in her usual mind

read about the "stages of grief", because that is what she's doing, grieving for the good health she thought she had

Just a quick update about goings on here, and now all our trials & tribulations seem so small compared to what RFF & family have to go through...
Day before yesterday spent driving for construction materials.

Still waiting for CR to get a price to me for unit of 2x6 AND a piece count per unit so we will know how many units we need...

Yesterday took washer & dryer to T-Hi...picked up day before at Chehalis from Broodytood....

We installed the W & D in T-Hi's garage, and DH hit the 'dry' button and the entire neighborhood was engulfed in stinky smoke...we unplugged the dryer & hauled it out back as it kept smoking & was on fire.

Took a good 45 minutes to get it down to a dull smoke bomb & DH opened it up..upside down & found a giant rat (shipmunk ?) nest IN & around the heater coils IN the heater element box.....a stinky burnt hair, seeds, nut shells & what looked like car under hood insulation......Broody missing insulation on any vechicles ?

Anyway, we worked to clean it all up, got it fixed & it seems fine.

Toni is so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much Broody for the donation!!!

Toni now has a washer & dryer...and no longer has the expensive & boring trips to the laundrymat....
Toni will be going back to work soon..and her situation looks better everyday!!!
After that, a run to North Bend to see Ogress ...so fast !
Dropped off a beautiful LF Blue Splash Cochin Pullet.......took 4 cockerals off her hands for the auction....
Then raced back south to Stumpfarmers, dropped a SQ LF Blue Ameraucana Cockeral for her nephew (I think?) and she traded me a LYDA ROSE!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok -- I'm off tomorrow to go see CCG and Cheryl98117 and then on the way back stop and see Ogress and pick up some pullets and maybe a roo or too many. I'm either going to be there (CCG's/Cheryl's) at 11 am or 1 pm depending on which schedule I stick to ... lol. CCG was going to go to the auction in Enumclaw, but maybe I am buying those birds? And Cheryl had a commitment that she's going to change ... hehehe.. we are all too nice

If you are on the road between Yakima and Gig Harbor (I-82 to I-90 to WA-18 to WA-16) and you are interested in being the victim of a drive-by, let me know

Dave

PS - I cleaned up my inbox.

YOU are going to LOVE the 2 Cockerals she has...hard to make a decision of which one..both big, beautiful, and NICE.

Heather:
Try not to be too upset, it's hard on the baby. Why your mom would post on FB before telling her family is quite odd to me. When I found out I had a brain tumor, we gathered the kids and my mom together that night and told them all together before we told anyone else. But your mom may not be thinking clearly...
Also don't assume the worst. Two radiologists said my tumor was the most aggressive form of brain cancer, and they were both wrong. It was benign (Praise the Lord!) and completely removed almost three years ago. I have no risidual effects, but one little finger that is numb, and I can sure live with that! I will be praying your mom is as fortunate. And you try to stay calm (easier said than done, I know). Let us know what you find out. You are welcome to vent your feelings here.

Anyone needs a dog clipper ?
T-Hi has one she found at her new house, 2 clippers, cords, several "blades" and combs..she asked me if I wanted it...I said no need.
But it is there if anyone wants it ?

Gotta go start dinner...

Hugs again Heather
