luckily so far this roo has been quite friendly and pleasant, to the hens, to me, to DH, and to the 11 year old girl next door
of course he is still young ... but he obviously considers me and DH to be the "alpha roos" ...
Kaneke, which part of Hawaii are you from??
Any good hints for Maui good eats?
yes, Maui
LOTS and lots of good places to eat on Maui, depends on how fancy you want to get, how expensive, and what type of food
also ... where you are staying ...
really partial to Cary and Eddie's Hideaway ... in Kahului near the old train station ... their Hawaiian buffet is better than most luaus, and a whole lot cheaper (especially at lunch)
(we were married on the beach behind ... few people get married on Kahului Harbor beach)
for cheap and good "local" food ... Cupie's, in Kahului, near the library (used to be a drive-in)
Maui Tacos is different, good salsa of several different types (including pineapple) -- in Kaahumanu Mall, in Kihei
and their fish tacos are delicious
Alexander's .. in Kihei .. has really good seafood
if your budget can stand it, Mama's Fish House in Ku'au ... has great food
Kihei Caffe has good breakfasts
Hali'imaile General Store has great PR, supposed to be good Pacific Fusion food, but it's awfully noisy; we didn't bother to sit down
the Kau Kau corner, food court in the strip mall where Borders is, has an assortment, all good .. mostly locals there, not many tourists
most any of the restaurants at the golf courses are good food too
some of our favorite places aren't there any more, the economy has had a bunch of business casualties there too
