Closed -- long time ago. But there are other stores here that carry that type of stuff.

There used to be a famous rodeo store out in White Swan, but that was back in the dim days when the sweetcorn stopped well short of Toppenish.

Cool! So did you need a wasp for the figs?

I have eggplants! They are small yet, but they are growing!

Wasps? What? What good do wasps do?

I thought wasps were needed to polinate figs. We had fig trees in California when I was growing up, and I know a bunch of people who would not eat the figs because they were grossed out by the wasp larvae: http://www.figweb.org/Interaction/How_do_fig_wasps_pollinate/index.htm

If you see something you want sewn, I'll sew it at no cost (but materials if they are pricey).

NOPE these are from Mia_ I DID NOT MAKE THESE. But they look very nice I see it looks like we have some forge and anvil going on there What kind of forge Mia_ ?

Ummm. . . about 24"x14"x8"? gas (propane?) powered? The torch I used was oxy-acetylene. My mother tries to be "arty" and was taking a Saturday metal working class. Basically, you tell the instructor what you want to do and he teaches you how to make it. She hauled me to it and I got bored so I asked the instructor if I could make something. He thought it was a bit too complicated for a first project. He said I should do it in pieces rather than one long piece in case I screwed up one part. I said that the joins would look bad. The only thing he helped me with was cutting the square-stock, I had never used a band saw for metal that was about 12' long.

I am just glad I got the twist even for the toilet paper to roll nicely on. Getting the bottom flat was a pain. I got a bunch of, "Yer doin' it wrong!" type comments before I put the three 1/4 turns into the vertical part.

Anywho, I am glad you like it!

I kind of learned to sew the same way - I bought a difficult pattern I liked and expensive material, that way I learned many techniques, and when I made any errors, I was sure to fix them because I knew how much I invested into it.

Hey hey seems I have had a visitor and din't even know it. I was mowing the lawn and as I came along the fence tween the drive and lawn there was a nice pile of booboo doodoo. Yup seems there has been a bear in the yard about 20 +/- feet from the front porch. For those who have been here it was right by the cedar bear. I guess booboo just wanted to come visit the cedar bear, check to see if the apples were getting ripe (NOT) and try out the new BBQ.

I was never aware they had flowers on the inside, nor that wasps were needed to pollinate them. Far as I always knew, Figs don't require pollination. . . . But anyway, mine is in a greenhouse, and I doubt we have many, if any, of the type of wasp needed even out in the wild here. Figs after all, or any "inner flowering" type fruit, aren't something you find out here.

Cool- it's not the place I was thinking of, which was something like Rodeo Supply, but it looks like somewhere to start lookng for what Julie needs.

There's more bears than we ever see, because they're smart enough not to make themselves obvious unless they have to.

I think this fall's going to be bad, though.
