(I'm still hoping to get a better pic, someday)
Thanks Rob, and Gary (and Robin for making it possible for Gary to bring it down)

we're still deciding how long to leave the chain for the "egg sail"

I think this one shows the nice blue color better... and the size & weight
I love having matching egg sails on my 3 wind chimes... have to add new chains for them to show them off better.

I have a couple Blue Laced Red Wyandotte pullets, some Barnevelder pullets with a smidgen of Black Copper Marans in them are ready and Black Copper Marans pullets in a month or 2 after I take my pick from about 15 of them. Will also have some Black Orpington split to Lavender pullets available soon and they are at point of lay. Have about 15 and want to cull down to 5.

Not sure what some of that means, like "Black Orpington split to Lavendar pullets". But sounds like you may have some girls for sale? You are not too far from me. I am at Lake Tapps. I will have to look up Barnevelders. Don't know what they look like.

I got some birds from CCG just a bit ago. She's got a nice place and takes good care of her flock. In fact when I saw her post I almost ran and called her to claim the BLRW's

You should get those! and a Barne! and then some BCM's and then some EE's and then some RIR's and then .. and then ...

I read the rules - this was judged by comparison. I took that to mean -- that they'd look at the birds at the fair and pick the 'best' one. So if the 'best' one was not so 'best' wouldn't it win anyway?

I dunno how this stuff works. I've never been to any type of animal show at all.

The older girls you got from me will be laying in about a month, they are 4 weeks younger than these girls, but then again, ive been told these girls lay a little later than others. So you may see eggs sooner than a month. im not sure on the Cuckoo marans that you got from me though...

that's all I've been hearing since I got home, and for the last week or so since our Giant Jersey went broody. For the second time this year! I didn't think they were that broody of a breed! And since she's top chicken and we're not letting her sit (locked out of the coop) she's taking it out on everyone else. Sigh. I am seriously considering giving in and giving her some eggs...she seems very determined and is making everyone else miserable.

On that note - does anyone have hatching eggs for sale in south Snohomish or North King county?
