Well, some of the mountains: Spokane is still west of the Selkirk, Bitterroot, Garnite, and the Crazy Ranges, as well as the Grand Teton, Wind River, and Wasatch, at least, until you get to your home; Yakima and Wenatchee are also west of the Blues the way I'm east of the Olympics.

Does the Loup Loup or Disautel moutian passes count? LOL. Sorry. It is early in the morning and I should be getting ready for work. first High School football game tonight...will be fun.

Loup Loup's officially the North Cascades, and Disautel's in the Okanogans, which is north of the path I took and west of Spokane, which I was arbitrarily using for a divider. I get to be a bit of a smart*ss about mountains; it started when I was in college and somebody from Colorado complained that the Olympics were "cheating" because their base is close to sea level, and was exacerbated by travelling to Montana too often and hearing that Snoqualamie Pass is no big deal (of course, one year we went over White, which is a big deal: not as big as Washington Pass on 2, but only a couple of hundred feet lower than Fourth of July Pass).

Well, and growing up on Yelm Prairie gave me a strong definition of what a Proper Mountain looks like. (About 40 miles of clear air at 350 feet looking 5 degrees north of due west at a 14,411 ft of triple-crowned stratovolcano makes an impression).

I leave the door open on mine all the time - always have (when it's not running) and also the little drawer you put detergent, etc. in. It still is smelly and makes the clothes smelly, too. I did read to run a load of just water with bleach. Need to try that. I looked at the price of the front loader destinker stuff yesterday at Top Foods and it was really expensive. Definitely will check WalMart when I am near one. It's definitely a front loader feature I didn't know about and am not happy with.

I have the Whirlpool set from Costco also, and am less than thrilled with them. My washer broke the first week and they wanted to replace the whole drum. I insisted I wanted a whole new machine, and I eventually got it. But my dh says our clothes don't smell good. I always leave the door open and do a bleach load about every 5 days, which helps. But I agree that it is a design flaw, and for all the $$ we spent on these, I should love them! It took me over a year to decide to finally take the leap and buy them, and now I regret it.

Precious.
My son likes that story the best! And I only lost one blanket, one outfit, one onesie, and had to really really clean the stroller. Cheaper than the movies.
So go brew a BIG pot of coffee and smell the grounds. Alll good.

My son's fiance did the Danskin's Triathalon with her mom a few weeks ago; her mom is not a strong swimmer so they were way back in the pack (DILTB was on the swim team in high school and does the long distances).

What's funny is that to me, this isn't cold and it hasn't gotten really cold yet in the year I've been here.

But the constant cool weather is not the most fun either.

You are now officially a mother!

I'm glad those days are over! We were on a road trip once and Alex was wearing shorts. I still can't figure out HOW it happened, but he blew out all the edges of his diaper and it went up and over the car booster seat and dribbled down between car seats in my station wagon. I actually had to REMOVE my car seats to scrub the stench out of the car because it ran down between the back and the seat!

LOL, that is a super-pooper! One night when my dh and I were up in the middle of the night with an 18 month old with stomach flu, I said, "This is true love, isn't it? Cleaning up diarrhea together at 2 am." He said, "Couldn't we just call 911 and leave?"

We use humor to get through the tough stuff, lol.
