Hello Washingtonians! I just wanted to say hello. My husband and I are new chicken owners in Tacoma. I grew up in Graham and always had a ton of poultry pets, and couldn't imagine not having them as an adult. My husband was more interested in the ducks that we had for a short while, but I have successfully converted him.

What breeds of chickens do you have? We have several members here that have ducks too.

We totally enjoyed the visit, too. It was terrific to meet you and we'll have to get together again soon! Please do hang on to that cute little red chicken. I think we need it!

I will keep her until you can come for her, cause I agree that you need her more than I do. Frizzles are just so darn cute.

Your coop looks very well made and I really like how he's trimming it out.
Your posts are going to be his best advertisement!
Bet you - and those growing girls of yours - can hardly wait for it to be done!

Hahaha. Okay, then, here's the full Ron Simmons portfolio! These are coops he's made in the past, and he sent the pics to me when I asked about one on Craigslist. I think my project is taking him longer than he expected because he's used to making mainly the same kind of coop. He was very open to designing something new though.

Oh my gosh....love them. Are they expensive?

Doesn't matter....I can't afford that.

Don't go...we might have to drive south to chain you to your computer.
Afterall we all know where you live. LOL:lau

Judging from CR's apologies - both specific and general - my guess is that he ended up getting a warning, like some of us did, and he's on a self-imposed 'time out'.

CR -- stop pouting and come out and play !

Okay Illia, CL...anyone who can tell...and I know that you are out there....These babies are not quite a week old and we have DEFINITE difference in growth of wing feathers. Does this help in sexing? photos:
Maybe hard to see...but the wing feathers are rather long:

Okay, here there is a big difference in this next baby. Look at the feathers coming through the fuzz...no wheres as long:

This photo turned out better than I had hoped.....can you see the difference in the feathers coming through the fuzz? Is this a way to tell gender?

Anyone with any ideas?
