Miguel hasn't eaten in more than 24 hours. He was just lying out in the rain. I brought him into the basement, and discovered he had a couple of lesions on his neck full of maggots! I pulled them out with tweezers, cleaned the wounds with betadine, and spritzed them with Blu-kote. I also gave him a bath. That wore him out. I hope when he wakes up, he'll eat something. I can't afford to take him to the vet I'm afraid. I suspect his next visit will be his last visit. I hate this.

Hi Julie, nope, not a yupper but a couple hours south of there, but spent a lot of time up there with sled dogs.

Muscovys are great ducks, one of the best free ranging and productive fowl possible ! Much like the Wishard, a free ranging bronze turkey that is free flying and as economical to raise as the Muscovys. I intend to add both in the spring here in Cusick.

A little scratch grain a couple times a day and they know where home is.

I love it here, I worked here a number of years ago doing stream surveys in the area and over near Spirit Lake too , wish I had come back long ago !

I am surprised to see a neighbor is a moderator here, from Ione !

Ah so you too have an appreciation for my friend the Muscovy!! I love them, but, I thought I would be able to sell them here on the south eastern side, but, they either haven't caught on or I just need to advertise more! Well, we are friendly to all who come and play here from all corners of the earth and love that there are some with which we have a little more in common! Glad you like it here, I have been hither and yon, and lived in many states and for some odd reason, WA keeps calling me back!!

Things I miss about MI..... Faygo Rock and Rye, Better made Potato chips, Kawalski (sp) kielbasa, upper MI pasties, and fishing in my favorite lakes!! Oh well, can't have everything!! Yep there are few folks on here from the east side, some north, a few from the south. It's a great forum and there are lots of great people here!
