I don't really know where to post these so I thought that I would share with my fellow WA's.

Finally got the truck running and the lawn mower went toes up along with by big weed eater. Threw my hands up and sent them to the shop to be repaired. Of course the day I got them back my washing machine decided to commit suicide. My buget was dang near busted for this year and I could see any hope of chicks fading very fast. So there I was, just getting up on my knees after life had knocked me down a peg or two and then it kicked me again just for fun I think. My van blew a head gasket and that won't be a cheap fix either. I don't stay down too long, heck the truck is running very nice and I am happy with it. Well I was for a while. The brakes went out on it. So it's back in the garage up on jack-stands withs the rear wheels pulled awaiting the new parts and brakes I purchased. Probably be done this Sunday afternoon.

Thanks, I really, really needed that....Any way I will leave the van sit for awhile and get my materials for the hen house. Once I get that built I will look to buy a few birds.

mikeyb IF I remember right you are only about 20 miles up the freeway from me. If that is correct keep in mind that I do small engine and auto repairs. I would be more than happy to help you out. Also when ya get ready for some birds let me know I may be able to help there too even if it means hatching some or loaning ya my incubator.

Good Morning all!

Been awhile since I posted here. Took forever to read up. My chicken run is almost done, yeah! And the coop just needs some minor finishes and it will be chicken ready. Can't wait for May to get me girls. Having tons of fun planning everything and running around getting the supplies. My DH actually suggested yesterday turning the old shed into a new coop when we get the new shed. Have to put a new roof on the old one but then it will be safe. Of course it will hold about 20 birds so I wonder if he is that anxious really. It has been a challenge to convince him that 4 hens are not too many. He just doesn't want the smell like the big chicken farms nearby.

Well I have to admit that I got my brother hooked on chickens in the city. They live in Marysville and got some Brahma chicks about two weeks ago. If I hadn't visited, getting the old dog kennel, than he would still be dreaming of chickens. Have to call him today and see how they are doing. He can only have 4 hens but bought 6 just in case.....

I see that it is 43 days until I go to Hawaii which means it's about 53 days till chickens in the coop! I think I'll be chasing the feral chickens trying to catch them when I'm supposed to be relaxing. Kauai is so beautiful and the chickens are everywhere. So here's wishing luck to all the hatchings and hope everyone has a great day.

Alice in Chickenland.

I'll be hatching some Blues soon(well actually not for another three weeks), from Holderread stock - so let me know then if you are still looking.

Thanks LOrraine! I do not have any birds at all or a bator! So please do let me know ASAP when yours are hatching!

There is another lady in the Tri-cities area that is hatching some now but just trying to figure out the travel part of it. A 5-6 hour drive one way is a bit much!

I had talked to Rainplace but she said it would be a few months till she got going. I think that she has her hands already full right now. Plus, I haven't noticed her on BYC in awhile. Hopefully all is good with her!

I would ultimately like blacks but I think any darker shaded runners would be good. I'm changing my mind on the fawn & whites since I've been seeing more lighter ducks that just look dingy all the time.

Though I'm not doing any of this for show purposes I will still be showing them off!! Hee Hee!!! '
