So, everyone has vacated the forum?
I have to go completely clean the Icee coop today.
Trying to do 2 a day...rake out all floor shavings, remove old straw from nests, replace, and repair any "issues" the coops may have.
It is like serviceing a set of apartment buildings...............

x3! I just cannot find the time to keep up with this group. I am always 20 pages behind! But had to share this: I found my very first egg this morning! It is a lovely brown speckled egg, found in the run by the hanging feeder, not in a nestbox. Hmmm, hopefully they will figure it out soon. I was so excited I sent pics of it on my phone to my hubby and all my kids!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the condolences. yesterday was rough on everyone around here. I still dont think Ive come to grips with the loss of our friend.

Ive just been trying to keep things relatively calm here at home. The past 4 days have been very odd, Ive been having very strong heart palpetations that last way longer than the few seconds that they are supposed too. Acompanied by dizzy spells, that leave me feeling like I am about to black out. I will be talking to my Dr. again about this on the 9th. I just dont understand what is causing it. I dont have the energy that I did a week ago, I feel fine except for the palpetations, dizzyness, and being tired. I havnt noticed any triggers for the dizzyness or palpetations, they just hit when ever, so I am at a loss. Its a bit frightening to say the least, as I can never tell when they are going to hit. it can happen while I am sitting down, walking, working, driving... I hope that my Dr. can give me some sort of explenation as to what is going on with me...

Anyways, thanks again everyone, your all great!

It looks like Fruitless Ash, which is the current go-to tree for street plantings. Great for a lot of reasons, the fall color being one of the best, but also it tops out below street-light height, has a wonderful vase-shape that keeps the filed of view at street level unblocked, and casts wonderful deep cool shade. It doesn't drop nasty hard slimy fruit like Sweetgum or cherries nor big floppy storm-drain blocking leaves like London Plane Tree or most maples, but it does have one serious draw back: if it gets hit by a car, or clipped by a wide-turning semi or loose tire, the whole tree dies within months. Sad, really, I love the trees.

(If these look familiar to more than me and Deirdre, it's because they're between Shipwreck and the first traffic circle looking west)

A very wise choice I think- there is only so much YOU to go around, but once you get all the building and set up done to your satisfaction things should ease up and give you a break. I am saying this for myself too. my coops are all up hill from my house.

I've been busily working away at my snowflake ornaments. They are all radially symmetrical, and no two are a like, like real snowflakes (sort of). I should have bought two bags of those triangular beads at Shipwreck
.

Get the stock number and the daughter-person can pick some up for you tomorrow; it'll make a good package to ship with your incubator and the seeds I forgot to give you!
