I can emagine! We have three people, three dogs, and 2 birds residing in our house. lol Im glad the main living area isnt carpeted! At least the lenolium "sp?" is easy to sweep. It also amazes me to this day how much hair Dusty sheds in a couple hours! I swear everytime this old dog breaths she lets loose a few dozen hairs! Big furball that she is!

I hear ya on the dog hair! We have two big fogs that get to come in on the linoleum only but some times it's hard to tell if hair is moving or if the floor is moving!

All three of the dogs used to sleep in my bedroom with DH and I. I put a stop to that when we had DD. Now they dont go past the kitchen/entrance! lol DOg hair and sand are what make the biggest mess around here. I cant go outside without dragging some sand in the house. And Dusty, she's getting old, doesnt go outside unless I make her go. She's been falling down the stairs lately... The meds the vet has her on dont seem to be helping anymore, the asprin ruitine isnt helping, Im just at the point of keeping her comfortable. Im not so sure on how much time I have left with her. She still eats, drinks plenty of fluids, and even gets little bursts of energy now and then and trys to play... But mostly she lays around. She's just getting old, no health problems that we can see, just old age.

Almost had to SSS today!! There was a big commotion outside, and I went out to find a big German Shepherd and a Labradoodle harassing my birds! Luckily I didn't have any out and about since the weather is so questionable today. I would've shot on sight, but they both had collars and tags on. I tried to get them to come to me so I could get the info off the tags, but they were both super skittish. They then ran next door and the labradoodle attacked the neighbor's puppy (also a labradoodle, but little) He's ok, just covered in saliva. I jumped in my car and followed the dogs for almost a 1/2 mile. I called AC and left a message, I have to call again...

Thankfully the puppy wasn't hurt & neither was any of my birds. Here's hoping they don't come back....

I really hate it when neighborhood dogs come into my yard. I hope it is just a case of them accidentally getting loose and not irresponsible pet ownership.

I'm glad you explained what SSS was. I would have sat here all day tryin' to figure it out!

Suzanne, just a note that I see growth in one of my eggs today...still giving the others a chance but at least I know Batman isn't shooting blanks.

Yes. Both of them are molting.

If her head is beginning to develop a dark brown, she's Pe'le. If her tail is missing and she's quite light and a tad scared and skittish she's Hua'Hue.

She's pretty skittish. I'm guessing Hua'Hue is living with me. Still working with her to gain her confidence although I know it doesn't work with all birds. Most of my girls LOVE me, some tolerate me cuz I'm food woman, and one screams "Run Away!" whenever I'm near. We'll see how it goes. She's awfully cute though.

Holy heck. That's one way to get the adrenaline flowing! So glad you were home and that the birds weren't out. Now to find the owners and make certain those dogs stay in their own da** yards! Happy to hear the puppy is okay too. Are you on good terms with the neighbors who have the puppy? Is there a cooperative way to ensure the labradoodle next door doesn't grow up to be a chicken harasser too?

Godiva is the girl w/the red legband.

I'd love to see pics of people's new hens they got from me

I love the other girls' names!

I'd love to know the names of our two girls! I don't have any pictures yet - but I was home on Wednesday afternoon so I took them out of their little quarentine coop and let them in...the GARDEN! The other girls were all looking through the fence soooo jealous!

But the two Maran girls were just huddled under the raspberries for a couple hours...and finally got brave enough to come out from under the raspberries and start digging a bit towards the end of their time. They'll get more garden time this weekend since I'll be home.

And they finally get the hot breakfast program

At least one of them does! This morning when the first girl came down for oatmeal, she gave the "broody mama call" for her buddy to come and eat! So cute! I cannot wait for this weekend to spend a bit more time with them. (And I cannot wait for one of them to give me an EGG!)
