I think Chickie is all confuzzled in her pain. I think she must mean the one we had at Monroe. I don't remember anything down here last year. Heck we barely had a micro flock back then.

She had mentioned sometime in the past couple of weeks that we should be planning for potluck at the show in Chehalis on December 6th. I think a lot of us are going to bring something like we did for Monroe. CL's in pain but she's not that confused.

Man! I wish I could go to the show!! Every year DH's grandparents have us over for gingerbread making and decorating.(for the kids) Lol! We adults just help and eat, drink and be merry! It's fun, but I wish I could come to the show too!

Well I will try not to come across as too harsh. But you are that birds flock and to send it to a new family will be very traumatic. I know they can be annoying at times just like kids. It's kind of like would you just send Chloe off with strangers (seriously). They may (any) be called pets but they are really dependent family members who we each commited to when we took them home.

PETS ARE FOR EVER !!!

Cheryl I hope I didn't hurt any feelings as that is not my intention but people getting rid of pets is a one of my hot topics.

Cheryl: Since you cannnot have a glass of wine (and it is not noon yet and your condition)...get a glass of grape juice (unfermented)...lock yourself in the bathroom. put on ear phones with some of your favorite music and take a nice hot bubble bath. Don't let anyone in. If you can not escape the mayhem. Put dd in front of the TV (even if you do not believe in doing this - sometimes it helps) and lock yourself away from everyone/thing even for 10 minutes. Sometimes a good cry helps me too....but bubble bath would be best. good luck. Things will look up.

Thanks 4312. Things are slowly getting better. Just had breakfast with DD, dogs a all happily napping, I made some more camp coffee, and the bird is still screaming behind me... Oh well, just need to cope I guess. Might nut be so grumpy if this rib would go back into place, no position is comfortable except my stomache when I have a rib out of place, but being prego, I cant lay on my stomache... Cope again... I havnt been sleeping much, DH is at work, so it is just DD and I and the hord of critters... I did break down and let her watch TV early today, it worked for a little while. Now Im just trying to get my head straightened out the rest of the way so I can attempt to get some house work done... DH needs work clothes, kitchen is a mess again...

I just need to remember that not everything is a disaster, and that the grumpyness is mostly from hormones. But add the rest on top of it. It makes for a grumpy momma on a cold unorganised morning. Probably doesnt help that I had to get up at 5 to have DH at work by 5:45, came back home by 6:15 crawled into bed then got up late for work at the barn...

Ok deep breath. The day will get better. It has too. lol

Feeling some relief. DH just called from Ellensburg where he stopped for a quick lunch break. He made it over the pass just fine, said it was "really pretty. All gray and white" So I guess there's a lot of snow but the roads were clear. Now I just have to worry about him getting through that long monotonous drive through the Palouse. For me that's the worst part. I'm glad he's going though - DD has been so homesick since she's been at school. She works weekends now as Chef's Helper in Southside Dining Hall so she hasn't been home since August. It will be nice for her to spend time with her Dad this weekend.

Speaking of - CL, did you decide to buy some Cougar Cheese online or did you still want me to have DH get a few cans while he's over there by the source? Let me know. They should have time to find some tomorrow. Tonight they're going to a football game (BRRRRRR!!!!) and then Lily is inviting Dads and friends to the apartment for the Apple Crisp I sent with DH. If we pick up the cheese for you we can always figure how to get it to you later!

HECK!!! I avoid all of what is left of my DH's family and most of MINE!!!!
I must be horrible. I just don't want to hear the stories all the time or how much better than me they are cuz they live in Duvall (sorry for whoever lives there) or their kid's socks are whiter because they are a better mom...or whatever. I don't have time for the garbage. Life is too short. Bring on the good.

I love my DH's family, but mine is so unbelievably disfunctional and just plain old not good people. I do my best to avoid seeing anyone but my mom's parents and my parents. I don't like to spend much time with my mom either, but I love to spend time with my dad, and most of the time she comes as a package deal. Lol! When I have had to see my other family members, I try to kill them with syrupy kindness. It's my way of being sarcastic and rude without them really getting it. They wonder but can't say for sure if I am being sincere or not. Which I am not. Oh the joy of family!!!

My favorite thing to do to my ex-mother inlaw, was to be nice. She would be screaming at me for who knows what, and I would just smile and be all sweet. Man did it frustrate her! And I loved every second of it! lol

Now days, I just cant bring myself to be nice all the time anymore. lol Fake is not me. But Im not a massive arguer iether... Now debates on the other hand. lol My DH and I debate ALL the time.

Darn it. You're near Spokane, correct? DH just headed over to Pullman this AM for Dad's weekend. DD had already texted to let us know there was snow in Pullman. WSDOT said traction tires advised over Snoqualmie. I'm worried about DH getting there and then getting home on Monday!

It is much too soon to be snowing IMO. I think it should stop.

We got 3" of big fluffy flakes yesterday afternoon, had to stop in putting the metal roof on the shed as it was just too slippery, its settling now, mixed rain and snow forcast through tues, sometime in there I will get the roof done and I hope the chickens and goats in their new quarters sometime next week.

Life is good north of Spokane.

Try covering his cage with a dark cloth for a half hour or so when he really gets to you, but always remove it when things settle down. He will just pull the cover through the cage a chew a hole in it then its not useful any more. Been there. Things that don't faze you one day are magnified 4X the next.

(edited to add sorry I did not see your later post but you need the hug anyway)

Oh I gave him and his momma a sprig of millet, that shut him up. lol Earlier he was screaming with the cage still covered... I cover it with a thick black fleece blanket. I use extra thick to help keep them warm at nights. My house tends to get chilly spots, and they are in one of those spots...

Oops, sorry. It IS on Saturday. I'm going to blame CR for getting me confused after he accused CL of being confused. Get it? (Okay, I know I can't rightfully blame anyone else for my confusion. I'm over 50. Just CSR.)

Oh my brrr! Its cold outside! The flock is happy, even the romers. lol Just took out a pot of warm cob mix, a little heavier on the oats. But boy are they happy! On one side of my house the thermometer reads 36* on the other its a whopping 38*... Brrrr..... Might give in and give the horses some warm mash with their meal tonight.

Anyone know anything about japenese maples? I have a pitifull looking "acer p 'shindeshojo" Its sitting in a pot out in my yard, would it be a good idea to at least bring it up on the covered porch and wrap the pot? The info card I have with it says its hardy down to -10* F. I dont get down anywhere near that cold, but like I said, its pitifull looking. Lost most of its leaves in the summer, then came back when the temps dropped... Any sudgestions on what if anything I should do for it?

I'm so sorry you hurt, but had to smile when I saw your post because . . .

. . . Hubby was skydiving (has over 400 jumps) - broke his ankle, but not from the landing. He was walking back to do another jump and fell in a hole!
