Okay, I think I can have a glass of wine too...sounds good to me...it is almost 5. Merlot here. Played mario cart with DS and got motion sickness. I can't play those games. Gonna clean more house.

Here I am surrounded by wine, but can't have any. I'm working a Private Wine Tasting Party at the shop and it isn't good form to be sipping a glass while I work the register. I am however, occasionally obligated to drink wine when we're bottling something new and I have to sample it.

DH called a few hours ago. He has arrived in Pullman and he and DD have found each other at a meeting place off campus once she got off work. He was going to follow her home to her apartment since he's never been there before. They have chosen NOT to attend tonight's football game. I think that's probably best since DH says it's "blizzarding" there. I am glad he got there safely. Just hope the passes are cleared by Monday morning when he is returning home.

Then I have to hope the passes are clear when DD comes home for Thanksgiving break.

She's planning on driving her car home then returning to WSU by bus so that her car winters here at home where it's not subjected to the elements in Pullman.

This Private Wine Tasting Party is over at 8 PM. I have the house to myself so I might just pour myself a glass of something, get my jammies on and find a good movie to watch on Netflix...

what is the name of your winery? what is your favorite bottle? Just up the road from me is a family owned winery I love to visit...it is called RockWall Winery. Actually she is my DD piano teacher.

I was in Redmond today doing my first Christmas shopping. I kept thinking of that poor little boy Sky who is missing. So sad.

I'm worn out, and I think I may get my PJ's on, bring the laptop to bed, and see if I can find a movie to watch.

We keep watching that on the TV. I don't believe a word she is saying...it is all fishy. That poor baby.

We are Vino Aquino - Tacoma's Family owned winery. "Grandpa" Gaspero Aquino emigrated here from Calabria around 1910. Like most of the Italians here he made his own wine, stomping the grapes while wearing rubber boots. His wife and 9 month old son joined him in the United States once he had earned enough money to send for them. They had 4 more sons and one daughter, my grandmother. All of my great uncles grew up making wine and now their sons make wine for their own consumption. My cousin, Rich Aquino is a great grandson to Gaspero. He likes to refer to the business as a "hobby that got out of control".

We sell wine kits, wine making equipment and wine that is made here in the shop. In order to keep a good inventory of aged reds, we bring wine over from eastern WA wineries in 60 gallon barrels and bottle it here with our own label.

Right now we have a nice 2010 Columbia Valley Syrah that I'm pretty fond of, but my all time personal favorite is our Commencement Bay - the Chocolate Port. Combined with cheesecake or cocoa dusted truffles it is a hedonistic pleasure.

It could be what is also called star gazing. Do a search here for that. I think it's a vitamin defiency thing.

Edited because I just saw that you said it's not a chick but a pullet at POL. Hm. Don't know on that one.

Booyah on the E.WA reds! It's my one consolation living out here in the scrub! Love the syrahs, love the blends (esp with some Malbec in it).
Much better than CA wines, more like the french style (in my mind, anyhow).

Are you the one that donates the private tastings to raffles at the shows?
