6th of dec? that is a Tuesday? I can participate if it is on Saturday.

Y'all are confused!!
The Winter Brisk is in Chehalis, Dec 3 & 4th.......................remember?????????????
I am steaming prawns, like I did at the Monroe Show.
I am also going to try to get a green salad together like I did at the Monroe Show.
It would be nice if a few brought diced fruit salad, chucks of melon, pear, etc.
Last show, Blue Duckligs brought curry..maybe just steamed or fried rice would be good?
Easy stuff you do not have to heat is what I am going for.
Crackers, (Gluten free marked, and otherwise) and cold cuts would be great also.
Those of you who can have breads can bring rolls.
Someone else brought paper plates & napkins.
So let's get it together???
Last time I got chewed out by CR for not telling him about "the" potluck.
So I am telling now.
I will bring my table, and we can pot luck on it.
So back to my Q:::
Who likes fresh oysters????????????
I CAN smoke them..maybe do fresh & smoked?
Or just smoked????????????
Heck, I get the smoker going, I can toss some red salmon on it too....

I suggest everyone think LOCAL
And bring what you have, or if not, buy some fresh fruit & such & make a cut up salad.
For example, Stumpfarmer could bring half LGB & Half GP meatballs..............YUM, I am cooking some right now!!

I already admitted I was confused. I knew the event and location, just wasn't looking at my calendar to get the date right! I'll blame it on DH. He took my cell phone with him to Pullman and all of my scheduling stuff is in there. Yeah, that's what. It's DH's fault.

I like oysters any way, but smoked is particularly nice. Pretty sure I'm attending so I'll get to thinking what to bring now. It will take me that long to decide.

One of the most local things I have access to is wine. I don't suppose we can crack a bottle open at the show in Chehalis, can we?

Today I got some not so good news. A friends dad went hunting (alone) yesterday. He planned to be back by dark. He didnot return so his 3 sons searched through the night. just before noon his truck was found about half way to Stevenson (roughly that area). last word about 30 min ago still no find. This is hard to set here and wait. See I know all of that area from my many years in SAR But since I am no longer active and don't have the fuel to drive the 70+ miles the best I can do is stay home and keep them in my prayers. I bet they are in snow up there since the area is very close to the base of Mt. Adams.

Okay, I think I can have a glass of wine too...sounds good to me...it is almost 5. Merlot here. Played mario cart with DS and got motion sickness. I can't play those games. Gonna clean more house.

Here I am surrounded by wine, but can't have any. I'm working a Private Wine Tasting Party at the shop and it isn't good form to be sipping a glass while I work the register. I am however, occasionally obligated to drink wine when we're bottling something new and I have to sample it.

DH called a few hours ago. He has arrived in Pullman and he and DD have found each other at a meeting place off campus once she got off work. He was going to follow her home to her apartment since he's never been there before. They have chosen NOT to attend tonight's football game. I think that's probably best since DH says it's "blizzarding" there. I am glad he got there safely. Just hope the passes are cleared by Monday morning when he is returning home.

Then I have to hope the passes are clear when DD comes home for Thanksgiving break.

She's planning on driving her car home then returning to WSU by bus so that her car winters here at home where it's not subjected to the elements in Pullman.

This Private Wine Tasting Party is over at 8 PM. I have the house to myself so I might just pour myself a glass of something, get my jammies on and find a good movie to watch on Netflix...

Hey wait a minute! Aren't you a bit unsteady right now CL? I mean, I appreciate your efforts to get some good stuff smoked for our potluck but I do have a concern about you being on your feet more than you need to be. Just sayin', please be careful, and at least pretend you're taking it easy...

I am walking with NO crutches, very carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!
wee.gif

I cannot twist, but I can bear weight.
The smoker is easy, DH can bring me the alder chips & all the wood needed.
It is a few weeks off anyway.
I already bought the 4 bags of prawns last week, they be in the freezer!!!
I may not be able to wrestle th turkey into a shower..but I am gonna try.
I may need help from some of you to unload my birds & cage them at the show and maybe help DH get the table up & food put out, but I WILL BE THERE!!!!!!!!!
So, I will send DH to get Oysters the day before the show.
The oyster processors are working 24/7 right now, harvesting.
My friend Mario works there, and we saw him briefly at the grocerie in South Bend, and he had his new infant son..and he said he is working from 6 AM to 7 PM with a 1 hr lunch in which his wife meets him so he can be with his kids, otherwise he never gets to see them awake.
This is 7 days a week.
I teased him that he will have alot of money and a great Christmas for the bambinos.
He is happy, and very tired.
The oysters are fresh out of the bay, hourly.
