Because it is in a pot, it will not handle temps that low. When a tree is in a pot the roots are much more vulnerable to freezing. The other thing is that in summer it will bake the roots. So it much better to plant a tree in the ground.

Well I returned my daughter's nasty little man dog, and picked up DH from the airport. My DD's little dog Reeses Pieces came over to make love to Miss Gabby. We should have puppies around January 12th. I am hoping that this will be that last batch of puppies at my house. I don't think that I like nasty little poopy puppies in my house any more.

It is funny that just after they learn to walk, that they learn that they can scare the big dog.

I just hope that he will be up to it this time. He has cataracts, and I don't think he can see very much any more. I have taken to putting the hair over his eyes up into a ponytail, to keep the hair out his eyes. I think it helps some.

Okay, I think I can have a glass of wine too...sounds good to me...it is almost 5. Merlot here. Played mario cart with DS and got motion sickness. I can't play those games. Gonna clean more house.

I love to play Mario carts. The kids had it when the still lived here. I sometimes think that I would like to have a game console, but it's never been much of a priority to me.

Booyah on the E.WA reds! It's my one consolation living out here in the scrub! Love the syrahs, love the blends (esp with some Malbec in it).
Much better than CA wines, more like the french style (in my mind, anyhow).

Are you the one that donates the private tastings to raffles at the shows?

Yes. The donations bring new folks in who might not otherwise come into the shop so they are a great way to introduce ourselves to new people. We also do personalized bottles of wine which make a unique and thoughtful gift for any occasion. If someone brings us a photo we can make the label and put it on any of our wines in under 20 minutes. One of my favorite tasks at the shop.

Well come to the show. We can make gingerbread coops and eat and be merry.

I wanna make gingerbread coops too!!!

It wouldn't be that hard to make sheets of ginger bread. They could then be made into coops. We could even make it into a fund raiser, if anyone is interested. I have a very large sheet cake pan. I think it make a half sheet cake. A true Full Sheet Cake pan is, 18″ x 24″, serves 48-108 The 1/2 Sheet Cake pan, 11″ x 15″, serves 18-40. A jelly roll pan would also work to bake sheets of gingerbread. Then all we would need is icing, and icing colors. This could be fun. I love to bake for a large group.

Y'all are confused!!
The Winter Brisk is in Chehalis, Dec 3 & 4th.......................remember?????????????
I am steaming prawns, like I did at the Monroe Show.
I am also going to try to get a green salad together like I did at the Monroe Show.
It would be nice if a few brought diced fruit salad, chucks of melon, pear, etc.
Last show, Blue Duckligs brought curry..maybe just steamed or fried rice would be good?
Easy stuff you do not have to heat is what I am going for.
Crackers, (Gluten free marked, and otherwise) and cold cuts would be great also.
Those of you who can have breads can bring rolls.
Someone else brought paper plates & napkins.
So let's get it together???
Last time I got chewed out by CR for not telling him about "the" potluck.
So I am telling now.
I will bring my table, and we can pot luck on it.
So back to my Q:::
Who likes fresh oysters????????????
I CAN smoke them..maybe do fresh & smoked?
Or just smoked????????????
Heck, I get the smoker going, I can toss some red salmon on it too....

I suggest everyone think LOCAL
And bring what you have, or if not, buy some fresh fruit & such & make a cut up salad.
For example, Stumpfarmer could bring half LGB & Half GP meatballs..............YUM, I am cooking some right now!!

All that sounds yummy.
Okay, hmmmm local. Orchard country. Hmmmmmm, let me think what I can best bring. I would eat a couple oysters (not raw)...but they are so rich that is about all I can do...just a couple.

Waldorf salad, Apples, grapes, and walnuts, all would be local to eastern Washington. Of course the celery isn't local. But it is still very tasty in Waldorf salad.

I be pulling for your friend. It is not a goodnight to be out in the mountains alone. The Mount Adams area is a very remote and difficult area.

droolin.gif

And/or how about a ice chest just with gatroaid, ice teas, and an assortment of both sugared & diet sodas???
Can you do that??

Yes I hate to rain on the parade but I just looked at the show rules and it says NO alc on premises.

Oh well it sounded like fun.

It would be possible to meet you in Federal Way, and share the rest of the ride to Chehalis. I have a Volvo wagon, that is fairly comfortable.
