From Ethel. Washington that is!!!
I bet by now somebody has beat me to your question but if not I don't see an answer I will later.

Okay, I've got to get busy and get some housework and yard work done. DD called me early this morning to let me know she was sending her Dad home a day early. He had planned to come home tomorrow but she said the snow was all gone, skies were blue in Pullman and she had to study for exams next week so he'd kind of be in the way.

They had a lot of fun with her friends and their Dads last night and DH even got to meet her boyfriend after they've dated for a year. Apparently DH didn't embarrass her in front of the BF. Whew. That's always a relief.

Sleep is one of the most precious thing humans have. I learned this shortly after Kaity was born. I had her next to my bed, and I think that I wasn't really sleeping. I was resting and listening to her breath. She wasn't able cry out loud, and I was afraid that she would simply die in the middle of the night. When Tyler was born 17 months after Kait, I had a rule that nobody played in the middle of the night at my house. The first time I can remember Tyler smiling was just after I had changed his diaper, and fed him, then I put him into the baby swing. He smiled at the little 1.5 gallon fish tank that had a small light on in it. My poor son spent several nights sleeping in the baby swing. But he learned that he shouldn't play at night, because mama wasn't going to put up with it. It didn't seem to hurt him in the end. He is one the most responsible people I know.

I rather wish I could declare myself sick unto death and take to my bed for a day or two, because even with better sleep the last few nights I'm draggy and de-energized by the end of the day. Part of that is the problem of young-chicken care, and not being able to find time to get them bigger quarters. I need to find time to take photos and see if I can get some input on sexing them so I can get the cockerels gone, but much of it is that I also have some major home repairs that are going to have to take precidence so we don't end up with the weather inside!

6th of dec? that is a Tuesday? I can participate if it is on Saturday.

Y'all are confused!!
The Winter Brisk is in Chehalis, Dec 3 & 4th.......................remember?????????????
I am steaming prawns, like I did at the Monroe Show.
I am also going to try to get a green salad together like I did at the Monroe Show.
It would be nice if a few brought diced fruit salad, chucks of melon, pear, etc.
Last show, Blue Duckligs brought curry..maybe just steamed or fried rice would be good?
Easy stuff you do not have to heat is what I am going for.
Crackers, (Gluten free marked, and otherwise) and cold cuts would be great also.
Those of you who can have breads can bring rolls.
Someone else brought paper plates & napkins.
So let's get it together???
Last time I got chewed out by CR for not telling him about "the" potluck.
So I am telling now.
I will bring my table, and we can pot luck on it.
So back to my Q:::
Who likes fresh oysters????????????
I CAN smoke them..maybe do fresh & smoked?
Or just smoked????????????
Heck, I get the smoker going, I can toss some red salmon on it too....

I suggest everyone think LOCAL
And bring what you have, or if not, buy some fresh fruit & such & make a cut up salad.
For example, Stumpfarmer could bring half LGB & Half GP meatballs..............YUM, I am cooking some right now!!

Me me me me me ...I LOVE SQUISHY WIGGLY RAW OYSTERS
Will take my allergy meds first! haha

QUESTION: Wacky, my 2 year old duck is not looking like her bossy self.
She laid a soft egg a few days ago, then no egg for a week.
Now she is not playing and not eating and just not Wacky.
What is a duck keeper to do???

You aren't any later than the rest of us. I think that CL was way ahead of the rest of us.

We are having a Potluck dinner or lunch on December 3rd at the chicken show in Chehalis. There is a sign up list at this link. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=7839926#p7839926

Please feel free to join us at the show. If you need a place to spend the night, there are some of us that are more than willing to lend you a bed. I have a day bed with a trundle, and your own bathroom for the night. All you would need is to like dogs.

I am fairly sure that we will be doing this again come Spring. The show then is held in Monroe WA, sometime in March.

Okay I got out bid on the 24 plus Silkie eggs too. This is both great, and yet still sad news to me. I will have to see about bidding again at the last minute. I have set my timer. The chances are that I will get busy and forget to bid again.

That's is a real pain in the patooty, but at least I don't hold grudges for very long.

PS I did finally remember to get the roast out of the freezer.
