There will be plenty of willing eyes hangin around. Am already helping another friend with his ducks Sat AM so.. what's a few more! lol!

Hey CL Karen said you can bunk with us so you don't have to go all the way back??? just sayn

Well, some things got done today- chickies' tubs cleaned, siding problem patched, all outside chooks fed, watered, given treats (old trail mix bars which were not only disgusting tasting but full of sunflower seeds, and thence not edible by me after being bought for pocket food, plus a head of romaine lettuce for the young Wyandottes) floor mopped, places where Ruby-dog tracked dog poo onto the back porch cleaned up... oh, and sheep paid attention to, tethered out, skritched, and generally given his due. He has a new tie-out chain, and a new job: keeping the mole hills levelled out with it. Works remarkably well. And he works cheap: a pint of alfalfa pellets a day and about a flake of hay every three days.

Tomorrow I have to move all my breakable pots off the front porch and walk so the Sears delivery people don't crunch them with the new range. Plus go grocery shopping and do all the standard chores and get ready to be away most of Saturday.

I gotta come back, got all my birds, dog & stuff to do.
More importantly, I will have my caregiver, DH with me.
So we will come home, close coops, feed the doggie & let him run & play.
Jack gets really upset if his parents do not play fetch with him at about 5 PM...run him til he is ragged with his pup tire.....a real tire only 8" high LOL!!!
It is a ritual of the evening, his time.
We spend time doing all sorts of things, but that is Jack's time and we respect that every one of our critters get their quality time.
IF I were whole, I could drive myself & stay there overnight...but DH says no....he is coming.
He enjoys the show too, and I will need his help with cooping in & setting up the table, etc.

I'll help!!!

Oh my....I have so many great helpers!!!!!!!!
Wish you were all here to help wash this big ol'turkey bird !!

I told DH to get ready, I was going to wash the Tom..and he said hollar when you are ready.
I was ready & yelled & yelled and DH did not show (typical...he is in his forte...rebuilding a Farm Master Incubator for Sheriff Mary)
and so on I went, Tom cornered, towel & hudson sprayer filled with warm water & a tiny bit of tide.
I started spaying, but impossible to hold 1 arm around Mr Tom's breast, and pump the sprayer & try to spray & wash with the other hand.........

Needed 3-4 hands here!
So, impossible to keep yelling when around the birds...I worked on him & finally wrestled him laying on his back, feets up...and washed his legs & belly...what a NICE LONG BREAST this boy has!!!!!!!!!

I got most of both wing tips done, and his tail feathers, and ran out of water.
I let the boy up....and he acted soooooooooooooooo humiliated.....almost sad!!!!
I hope he struts for me again!

I plan on washing him again tomorrow..if there is need to....I am sure the judges know how hard it is to both wash a big white bird AND keep it clean.
I should get a special award just for the attempt!!!
Sorry, no one was there to take photos, and wouldn't you know it, as soon as I was done & walking out of the gate, DH showed up...

I want to weigh this bird too, and that will have to waite until tomorrow....

Hope you love your new range!!!!!!!

Mine, for the new house WILL be, a gas (propane) cook top IN the counter, and a wall mounted electric oven.
WHY?
Cuz cooking good bread in a gas oven is NIX.
A gas oven is so vented that humidity & temp is lost.
A electric oven is sealed, and gets hot & stays hot without loosing humidity that is needed for good crusty rustic bread, gluten free or other wise.

Been around the tree a few times.............and this is the way to go for what I need.
Hey SF...are ya coming to the show???????????
