Sometime after the first of the year, I am planning on calling Julie Walker to come out & do NPIP testing..even though all my flocks have been already tested at the Fair Poultry Show (except for the turkeys which were at the time, too young)
She has those records already so only the turkeys need testing, I think...unless there is a time limit (it was in August) and will have to test each flock again???

I am unsure how that works.

My thought is "Do you know what they call the guy that finished last in his class at med school?"

Doctor

I also think about how many people cheat their way through school.

It scares me a bit.

My doctor is a nice woman but somewhat unimaginative, which is unfortunate because she's approximately my absolute opposite: narrow feet, flat chest, and has a hard time not losing weight, no Type 2 members of her family...

Back is mostly back to merely tricky- woke up to the house at 63F so that didn't help much! Have to feed all the chickens today, sheep gets hay, Christmas tree maybe? *sigh*

All three roosters are yelling at me to come out and pay attention to them, so I guess I'd better go take a shower and get dressed very carefully.

I am very aware, a 5mg tab is not going to cause an OD. I have a chronic disease and am well schooled in the medication department thanks to that. the most common pain med given is hydrocodone 5-500. you wont keel over from 2.5 mg of that. thank you though, for looking out for those who might not know.

Wanted to ask you...do any of the pain meds and NSAIDS upset your digestive tract at all?
I get a reaction that is quite unpleasant, like the stomach (intestinal) flu...achy tummy, & all the rest.

NSAIDS are a big no no for IBD. they can be dangerous and cause bleeding. you have to watch docs that are not informed about IBD as they will often times prescribe NSAIDS. tylenol it is when you have a headache. the doc that told me crohns was no painful...was a woman, she also told me that I could not be on Humira for very long, only a short amount of time as it was an immune suppressant. I am looking for a new doc because she is supposed to be an internal med professional and knows nothing about IBD and how its treated. Humira is used to treat RA long term along with crohns.
You do need to watch certain pain meds in IBD as they can have adverse affects, they need to be balanced with other things so as not to cause obstruction.

Last night I posted several of my items on FB. Well seems I have caused a bit of a feeding frenzie of "last minute" shoppers. So ya may not see much of me for a couple days got several orders to make. Ooooh what I would give for some warmer weather you know like in the upper 30's. Or better yet an enclosed shop that would keep the wind out and maybe stay a little warmer too ! ! !
So not to worry if ya don't see me much for a few dayz. Heck I been making deals and selling online since about 4:00am

and now gotta go out and build.

Good for you! Sorry about the cold, but too many orders is a good problem to have! Yeah, I imagine a shed would be nice... Stay safe while you're working CR...

I can't do NSAIDS either. After gastric bypass surgery we're very sensitive to those and it can cause severe pain, not to mention ulcers around staple lines. It's liquid Tylanol for me only. All my meds have to be either in liquid form or crushed now otherwise my system doesn't absorb it.

I'm trying to keep DD off the NSAIDS as when she gets stressed she gets painful tummy aches as well. I tell her to watch her caffeine intake, but during finals those darn kids live on Red Bull and coffee.

Amen to that.

My OB said women have a much higher pain tolerance than men; I believe it.

My guy here is just the opposite.
Trying to get him to go to the doc is like pulling teeth out of a hen.

I have a gastroenterologist in NorCal that I adore.
I miss him greatly.
he was the only doctor I have seen in my entire life that believed I actually had a problem & that it could be Celiac.
My go to doc laughed with my constant complaints of pain & swelling, the blisters, the hair falling out, the bloat and other odd ball issues that arise with a hyper active immunal system.
I still have not found a good gastro here.
I feel if I need to see a gastro again, I will travel back to NorCal & get a motel if necessary to see 'my' doctor.
he was wonderful in Rxing meds that would be kind to my digestive tract as well.
IF I would have had surgery on the knee, I would have gone to him (via phone if nothing else) for prescribling me pain meds.
The man is truly fascinated by the GI tract...and has studied all issues with it.
I feel no other regular doc would understand the GI as he does.
It is rare indeed to find a doc that understands...if you have one, feel blessed!!!
I must have gone through 20 or so before I found this one who did not laugh when I said I thought I might have Celiac Disease.
My gp laughed & said "Do you know how rare that disease is? You could not possibly have it!"
That was the last time I went to him.
Just because a disease is rare, does not mean you do not have it, shesh! somebody has to have it!!

My gastro took a skin biopsy, from my elbow, and it was positive..........
