Was there a NON STICK pan involved in this??? They give off toxic odors when cooking normal and if they get overheated they are VERY bad. Also DO NOT use a self cleaning oven if you have birds in the house.

That's what I was going to ask- about the nonstick pan, at least. I know they're deadly to birds.

My sister has a glass kiln. She made us house numbers for Christmas. I love them, and can't wait to get them up.

That's a cool gift!

I'm so sorry for your loss - that's awful!!! I hadn't thought about it, but it makes total sense. And I didn't know about non-stick pans, self-cleaning ovens and birds. Yikes - thanks all - I learn something new here every day.

OK here is something I just learned about and would like to share. This is very near us. Diane and her 2 kids graduated from here along with Diane's sister and 2 brothers. The first guy in part is Diane's brother who is a teacher and coach there. You may also see somebody who is VERY well known. If nothing else please look at part 3.

Yes and birds in general are very sensitive to fumes etc. I also figure if it is so bad for the birds then how good can it be for us to breathe this nasty stuff.
